Anyone had any issues with the magical express bus service from the airport? We will be there the last wk of Jan and using the service from the airport to WL---Does anyone know what order they drop off at the Resorts? :goodvibes

There are no set routes for DME. They can change from day to day. But, usually there will be 3 resorts per run...sometimes 4 (I know that YC, BC, BW, and POR have been lumped together, but three of them are next door to each other).

As for rating DME, the vast majority of guests find DME to work very well for them. I have seen very few reports that are negative and most of those reports had some kind of logical reasons for the negative issues.

We have had good luck with ME every time we have used it. MUCH better than Mears back before they started working with Disney and offering ME. It is still faster to take a private towncar service, but ME is pretty darned effeceint, clean and free.

Given that it's free, it moves thousands of people a day I would say it's awesome. Have used it 4 times now and never had an issue with it. Sure one time our timing was just 'off' and it took us about 2 hours total to get to our resort from landing (not waiting for a bus or anything, so take that into account). While that would drive some people bonkers, to me it's just not that big of a deal, since it means I dont have to rent a car or drive myself around.

I used DME for the first time last week and found it to be an excellent, money saving alternative to a towncar. I landed at 9:20am and was in my room by 10:45 am. I was going to the WL, and we stopped at Poly, GF, then WL and I believe they went to Fort Wilderness after that. Bag showed up in a timely fashion several hours later while I was a MK. On departure day, I checked my bag for my Jet Blue flight at the Lodge, and it showed up without a problem when I landed at LGA.

Overall...excellent. I know there are probably glitches from time to time, but my experience was great for the (non-existant) price.

ME is a great service! I love that I don't have to book and pay for a shuttle, don't have to pay to rent a car, don't have to hassle with bumming a ride. :) Sometimes you do have to stand in line and wait a bit for your bus, but you're headed to Disney, so it's just practice for the lines you'll soon be standing in!

Now the ME luggage service I've had some issues with. If my flight lands at 4pm, I expect my luggage before 11pm. That's 7 hours! Not sure what happened that time. One other time we used ME luggage and the luggage was in our room as promised when we got home from the park. Last time I just got my suitcase and brought it to the ME bus with us.

I've used ME numerous times and will continue to do so. Sometimes I'll get lucky and board a bus just before it leaves and other times and I've not been so lucky and have been the first on a bus and ended up waiting about 30 minutes to depart the airport.

That being said, it is free, so my expectations are not the same as they would be if I paid $100 or so for a town car or limo. But overall, I'm very happy to save money and ride the ME bus!

That was very likely caused by the airline misdirecting your luggage. If that was the case, and you had decided not to use ME luggage service, you would have been stuck in the airport filling out paperwork instead of starting your vacation.

10 out of 10. We have used the DME at least 5 times and love the convenience of it and how easy and fast it is.

We also had excelent service with bus to/from resort. Loved not delaing with luggage but be warned that it can take awhile for the luggage to arrive. Our plane arrived around 7AM, our luggage did not make it to the resort until 6PM.

We have only used it twice but it worked just fine. It's nice to get the luggage loaded, sit down in a comfy chair...and voila...

let the vacation really begin......:woohoo:

I'd rate it highly for a FREE service!.

We used it 2 yrs ago for the WL and I think it stopped at the GF, Poly and then the WL. Our luggage was in the room when we got back that night from the MK around 730. When we got to MCO there was a long line for the ME desk but it moved really fast- in fact my DH and kids went to get food thinking I would be online forever and I was done checking in within a few minutes! I wound up waiting for them and missed the first WL bus to come along!!! :rotfl:

Just make sure your carryon has everything you need for the 1st day AND NIGHT. Sometimes if you want to go to bed early on the 1st night (or have little kids that need to) you might want all your toothbrush/pajamas with you. BUT we've always had our luggage in our room before bed.

If you are looking for the FASTEST way to WDW from MCO then hire a towncar. For about $100 or so they pick you up at baggage claim and help you - they will also stop at a supermarket.

BUT for a free shutttle, we love ME - it saves us $$ and it puts us right into the DISNEY spirit from the minute we board the bus!

They show a movie on the way so it helps to pass the time, and I dont think they stop at more than 3 resorts on the way.

Love, Love, Love Magical Express! Have used it 2 times for our pre-cruise stays at WDW and have never had any problems.
