When you see that name, how do you pronounce it in your head?
Ell-oh-DEE
or
ELL-oh-dee
This one!!!
That's my guess also.Yep, me too. Like Melody without the M.
....at first, I was thinking that it ought to be pronounced like 'Melody' but without the 'm', but I'm thinking ee-LOW-dee....ummmm, and why is this an issue?
Not an "issue" really, just a question. I would pronounce it like Melody with no M.
We are considering it as a name for our baby if it's a girl...but I don't want to name her a name that she'll be explaining the pronunciation her entire life.
If I got a wide range of answers/pronunciations, I'd take that into consideration when naming her.

If you want it to be like Melody, you need to use Ellodie (two LLs), I was totally thinking ee-low-dee when I first read the name. I would avoid the name, you are only going to have problems.

.....soooooooo, what you're REALLY saying is, you don't like the letter "M"?
.....And it seems a little 80's to me...a little dated...for my personal tastes....Guess I shouldn't talk about "80's names" since my 2 year old is named Amy.![]()

LOL.......I would have guessed eh-LEN-ee, which is correct, or ELLEN-ee.y DD18 is named Eleni, a very common name for Greek girls. NOT at all common for American girls. You can't imagine how many ways we have heard name (forget spelling it right). The correct pronuciation is eh-LEN-ee. But we hear uh-LANE-ee, eye-LEEN-ee, ELLEN-ee, and you-LAY-lee.![]()
