We're going to
Disneyland for DS's 4th b'day in May, too.
But we're really open with him, so he's known for at least a month, when DH and I finalized the plans in our heads, and we talk about it almost every day. He knows that this month is papa's birthday, then we have a month off, then at the end of the next month, instead of a b'day party, we're going to Disneyland.

He's busy eating all of his vegetables so he'll be "big for pirates ride". (This year he's been skittish about the POTC ride, but managed to finagle us into letting us see Curse of the Black Pearl, so he's now brave enough, but thinks he has to be bigger to go on it again)
We aren't a big surprise family; we just talk about things as they are planned, and it works well! I'll probably do a few fun things for him when we're there, but of course we've talked about them in front of him already.

He can't have corn syrup or anything with corn syrup in the compound name (high fructose corn syrup) and their frostings for the little things they have has it in the ingredients. So if we do the Disneyland's Plaza Inn b'day celebration, we'll be paying $10 for each of us, and I'll bring in my OWN frosting made without the corn syrup, and probably his own little cake, too, to decorate. Maybe two of those sets, b/c DH can't have the stuff either (what will we DO with those other two cakes that we're paying for, lol). Fun things like that so he can celebrate when he normally wouldn't be able to participate b/c of the corn syrup issue. Those sorts of things will be his surprises.
