How would you feel if Fp+ was changed back to Legacy FP?

How would you feel if Fp+ was gone and legacy fp type system replacing it?

  • not happy I love fp +

  • Thrilled I do not enjoy the current FP+

I think you're asking the wrong question.

The right question is:

Would you like the current system or would you like a system with machines that you put your entrance card to get a paper ticket return time and EVERYONE used this new paper ticket system.

I was a FP abuser. I'd pull 10 in a day. But I also understand that VERY FEW people used legacy FP. People believed FP was an expensive add on.

If FP was advertised as well as FP+ and if it was used as extensively as FP+ is then all the headliners would be out of FP at 11:00. Space, Splash, Thunder, PPF, etc would all be out by lunch time.

Don't you wonder why Disney had to add FP to HM, PotC, IASW and the teacups? It's because the previous FP system didn't have enough FP capacity if everyone at the park was using FP.

If you think they could go back to Legacy FP and you'd be pulling 6+ per day you are flat out wrong. You'd get maybe 3 or 4 a day, and you'd have to pull the good ones by 12:00. So if you're a late arriver you'd be a big loser if they went back to legacy FP and EVERYBODY at the park used it.

I'd be thrilled. I don't dislike FP+, but the planning that now goes into our vacations is a bit ridiculous. I preferred touring with legacy FP.

If they would stop dicking around with tests that eliminate standby, I'd be fine with either FP system.... Just leave my standby line alone, please!

I like the ability to reserve FP's in advance. But that seems to be the only positive attribute left; everything else (tiering, the impact on wait times, inability to make 4th and up FP's from your phone, limited to 3 and one park, etc.) are complete fails as far as I'm concerned.

Totally agree - I'd like to see a mix of the two systems

1 or 2 FP+s in advance so that people don't feel they have to do rope drop if they do not want to.

As soon as you use one you can book another - allow people to always have two FP+s

Reduce the days in advance you have to book - 60 is jut ridiculous IMO.
I find it more ridiculous to stay up until midnight 60 days in advance to book a ride than to get up for rope drop - but that is me.

No tier system - I don't need a FP+ forced on me for Mission Space

Let people plan FP+ on their phone or at a kiosk for ANY park.

Have a simple system at the ride to get a FP+ at a specific time displayed on the clock like the old system. I just wave my band and the FP+ is booked.
Then I don;t have to wait behind someone at the kiosk who cant figure out the simplest of interfaces.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people who can't work the kiosk and I always seem to be behind them.

I too agree that the TSMM "let's remove standby!" test was the dumbest idea and is only going to create problems if they try to impliment something like that.

I'm not bugged by most the other issues you listed, though they would be nice changes, I can't call something a "failure" when FP- wasn't designed to allow for them either...as for the wait times..I do believe that it is due to more people knowing about FP+ than knew about the old system. Disney is selling the system in a way they never did the old one...I'm sure someone can find numbers somewhere, but it would be interesting to see the number of FP+ users compared to FP- users...of course we would need to filter for just the rides FP- was used on.

My belief, just based on my being a user of the internets (so I must be right :) ) is that we would see an increase in FP users with the new, marketed, system...so that is what is causing the line issues. SO what is the solution (besides to stop spoiling the fun of those of us that know the secret tricks?) It really is the old favorite, build more rides and attractions...especially in EPCOT and HS.

I prefer fastpass+ and would rather eliminate the concept of fast passes completely before going back to the paper one.

I don't care for FP+. Legacy FP has quite a few flaws but I think FP+ is worse. Not by much but a few degrees. In particular the amount of preplanning months in advance.

But the fact that I don't like FP+ is more of a personal thing. It just doesn't work for me.

I wish they would mix the better qualities of the two.

I don't see paper coming back ever - too much invested in this and they can sell these magic bands for a decent profit - especially the themed ones and of course the add on charms.

I'm going to wait until after our Nov trip before deciding. Right now I am thinking that FP+ is going to work out great for us. I don't have to be the FP runner anymore.

I was not a FP- abuser or power player so I am very happy not to have to get to the park at rope drop and run around collecting fastpasses. If we were lucky enough to get a 2nd for a favorite the time was usually so late we ended up giving it away anyway. I like having some degree of control over the times and the ability to know ahead of time where I will be when. I LIKE having a plan. It makes my day go much smoother.

I like aspects of both. I love being able to skip rope drop sometimes, now that there is FP+. But I miss the old days of saving up all my fastpasses and using them in the afternoons. But I don't miss running around collecting them.
Yes, this..

I see poll numbers are trending towards legacy. No real surprise on that one!

We're going to Disneyland around New Years and I would love having FPs for Radiator Springs Racers and Indiana Jones in my pocket before I leave home. We haven't been to Disneyland for 8 years and it's harder to develop a touring strategy when you aren't as intimate with the park layouts.

If you haven't already, check out the DLR forums here. HydroGuy's "A Guide to DLR for WDW vets" is a fantastic resource. I believe there is also another thread on how to maximize getting RSR FP quickly. Indiana Jones was never an issue for us when we were visiting (always availale, never far out), but we weren't there at Christmas/New Years and I have no idea how quickly they go during such a crowded time.

The folks over on the DLR board are very helpful, though, and I'm sure would be happy to help you come up with a touring strategy that will work for you.

It wasn't just TSMM...they've tested it at A&E twice (and A&E in DLR implemented the first version of the test), and Soarin' as well. It is a bad idea, IMO,, for sure, but Disney seems intent on continuing with the testing. Who knows what will be next.

What about the third option of "neither really matters to me"? I barely used Legacy (by choice), but I like being able to have three of my faves ready before I even step foot in a park. The reason a lot of people liked Legacy so much (IMO) is because fewer people used it, so you were able to get 4-5-6-however many FPs while there were people getting none. Now, EVERYONE gets three to start off with.

There are those of us who also preferred Legacy for the flexibility it provided. I have not used FP+ yet, so I'm waiting before giving a complete judgment, but so far I am not enjoying the planning with FP+ because of the prediction aspect of it. I don't know if the fastpasses I pick will turn out to be useless because the stand-by line will still be short. Under the old system you could walk up or check an app and see whether or not a ride needed fastpass before getting one. Now not so much.

I think I would be fine with FP+ in a low crowd time, when it really wouldn't matter that much. However, we are going at a busy time (no choice) and so likely won't have much wiggle room for moving things around/gathering additional FP+ experiences.

First time I participated in a FP+ debate! I'm sort of disappointed in myself...

I think those that prefer legacy do so because we had more control. We decided if we wanted to arrive early, if we wanted to run to the machines, if we wanted to watch return times to get a 2nd, 3rd..., and even if we wanted to use them during the return window or pocket them for later (until they enforced return times).

Call it abuse, taking advantage of the system or knowing the tricks, point is we had more control over the use of the legacy system. The new FP+ removes some of our control. All we can do is wait up at 60 days and once our choices are made, we are done.

Disney has implemented a system that is still free, but you get more if you pay more: on site guests get the 60 day window and the longer you stay (the more you pay) the greater your chances of getting premier FP+.

How about a system that simply gives on-site guests 3 FP+ that can be used on any attraction at any time at any park? PERIOD. Kiosks can still be available in parks for all to use.
