How would you change FP+ to make it better?

Assumption - you can't get rid of it altogether....

I would have some combination of FP+ and Legacy FP - but all electronic. Instead of 3 advance FP+, only allow 1 or 2 but allow making "in park" FP once you enter the park subject to similar rules as Legacy FP. Your advance FP+ doesn't preclude you from making more FP once in the park even before the advance FP+ window but some rules would have to be established on when you can make more FP.

Like, if you have a FP+ coming up in the next 2 hours, the times available to you for other FP are 2 hours or more in the future. Similar to Legacy FP, once you get an in park FP, you can't get another until the window for that one opens or 2 hours has passed. Any FP+ you hold will also affect what FP you can get.

If you are allowed to make multiple FP+ in advance, they can be for multiple parks if you have a park hopper ticket. If I make my 1 or 2 FP+ for Epcot in the evening, I can still get FP for MK in the morning once I enter MK.

I think this would bring back much of what people liked about Legacy FP while keeping much of the benefit of FP+.

I haven't even used FP+ yet and I would go back to Legacy but make it all doable from your phone. FP goes to your MB. No one gets any until you are in the park.

Make the 4th available on your phone. Or at least see what is available so you don't go to the kiosk for nothing. I think making it all park only would jam the system.

I would change it so that your FPs could be spread between parks. Even if the limit was still 3.. anyone with a park hopper should be allowed to make selections from more than one park!

Basically your idea. You get to book ONE ride ahead of time. Once you enter the park it doesn't matter what time your prebooked for, you are eligible to book your next FP the same way you once did legacy FP giving you the soonest return time. You can book your 3rd in 2 hours or as soon as you use your first FP.

I would also remove FP from most rides, but keep them more parades, shows, and meet and greets. The rides I would keep them for are the ones that offered legacy FP and MAYBE a few additional ones. But no Small World, Mansion, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Spaceship Earth, Great Movie Ride, ect.

This would keep the SB lines short for those attractions, and since people are only pre-booking 1 thing instead of 3, you wouldn't have the tiering problem. The people that want to sleep in still get their FP for a ride they never would have gotten under the old system, and the RD commandos still get to collect as many as they want until they run out. If you're a park hopper, you can plan your 1 pre-booked FP for your second park, and use the day of FP in the morning.

Sorry surferdave, I think your suggestion is far to complex.

Yes, so the people who like the current ponderous system tell me. I think it would be much easier to use than explain.

This is likely impractical and I haven't thought through the logisitics of it, but it would be great if they got rid of the time slots all together. Just give you 3 fast passes to use on whatever you want when you want. I realize they need to regulate the lines which is why the time slots exist, but Universal has found a way to manage a "do whatever" type of fast pass in their unlimited express pass. I'd even be ok with selecting which park I was going to be in. The biggest pain point in my planning has been trying to decide what time I want to book each ride and does it make sense with where I will be in the park at that time of day, does it interfere with a planned break or ADR, etc.

Would also like the option to split up your 3 FPs among different parks, which would help with park hopping.

I agree. I appreciate the thought put into it, but people are amazingly confused about picking 3 FPs, that's it. That system of "If I ride this, then I can ride this" would have people so lost they would be wandering around the MK bumping into things like a drunken version of the Sims.

I would want to be able to schedule 4 FP's at multiple parks if I wanted. I would also like to see the FP option removed from many attractions that didn't have legacy FP's, like PotC, Spaceship Earth, etc. Having FP available for rides like that is just dumb. Now the standby lines are longer than ever. It would be nice if you did use all your scheduled FP's that you should have the ability to schedule your next FP for a different park than you are in, example: We use all of our scheduled FP's at MK and want to go relax at the resort before heading to Epcot. I want the ability to schedule a FP at Epcot without having to go there first.

I think making them for a longer window would solve most the complaints about it requiring too much "preplanning" of a trip. If instead of an hour window, you booked a "morning" or "afternoon" or "evening" that was good for a 3-4 hour block, then that problem would go away.

I like that we now get three instead of one...not bothered that it is limited to one park, because it is an improvement over previously where you got the ONE, so of course it was only for one park.

I don't like the tiers...mainly because I feel stupid even selecting the other choices left at HS or EPCOT...really, FP for Spaceship Earth? or Figment? why?

I agree. Except that I think the in park FP should function pretty much the same way legacy FP functioned and function independently of your pre-reserved FP. I would also decrease the booking window. Maybe one week to 10 days out.

I would also decrease the booking window. Maybe one week to 10 days out.

I wouldn't decrease it by that much, maybe 45-30 days out, that way the PIF date has passed so you don't have people that will end up cancelling making FP+ reservations...but if dining is 6 months out, a month or 2 isn't really that extreme...most people that are going, know they are going more than 10 days out.

1) Stick with 3 Fastpasses, BUT 1 can be booked with a 6 hour window and the other two must be scheduled as normal.

2) 4th Fastpass and beyond can be booked via Phone App or Kiosk.

3 things I think would help.
1 - 4th FP from phone.
2 - Do away with the tier system. The park with the two toughest to get FPs doesnt even have or need a tier system why should the others?
3 - Allow multiple parks. I think this would work well with changing 1 and 2. You could be at one park, do your three and immediately plan your 4th at another park. Also doing away with the tier system would make all attractions in the different parks not on a tier system so there would be no reason an individual could not get one in a park with two later in another park or vice versa.
