How would I go about getting to Boma if not staying at AKL?

We're thinking we'd like to try the Boma breakfast one morning of our trip, but I'm unsure how to go about getting to the AKL from our resort first thing in the morning.

We're staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. Would we just hop a bus for the AK and is the lodge nearby? What's the best way to do this?

Thanks for any info :)

The AK lodge is very close to AK park, but there are not walkways or other access to get there yourself. Using strictly WDW transpo, I would say try going to any park (probably MK or AK), then catching an AK bus from there.
Non-WDW transpo, then grab a taxi. It will be much quicker than the bus trip.

As PP have said, unless you have your own car there are basically 2 ways to get to AKL from another resort. Take a bus from your resort to one of the parks, or DTD, and then change to a bus from that resort to AKL, or take a cab. If time is a factor, a cab would be quickest.

Dining at other resorts is just one of the reason we always rent a car. Plus we love to explore the "real" Florida. :goodvibes

Depending on your ADR time, choose either MK or AK which ever opens first. From MK take the Monorail, from AK take the bus (you cannot walk from AK to AKL). For our trips why stay on site and not take advantage of Disney transportation.

Certainly have to agree with the other PP on this one. If you want to use Disney transporation to get there, you will have to take a bus to one of the parks, then catch a bus to AKL from that park, that could easily take an hour. We do this quite a bit when we are there as we like to have a meal at some of the other resorts as well. It does not cost anything, but it does take time.

The easiest option if you are not renting a car, would be to take a cab.

not sure I understand what you meant here?

We try and get anearlier ADR time - then go to our park of choice (ususally I plan on going to AK on the day we have an adr for AKL) Then when we're ready to leave, we go on the AKL bus -

return trip is like playing a game - which bus arrives first, we hop on it - or if we're not tired, we'll take the bus to the late EMH park and do a couple of rides, then take the bus back to our resort...

AK does have an early morning breakfast - so you could still go to AK - then I would ask the bus driver to make sure a bus would/could return you over to akl (if you ask the bus driver, they can radio ahead, and sometimes be directed to drop you off at AKL - it just depends on the timing - time of year, time of morning....

I'm sure there are other Dis'ers that have done this -

This is an easy trip, I just did it yesterday. Given where you are staying go to Downtown Disney and take an AKL bus. Depending on the time of your ADR check at your hotel to be sure DTD buses are running that soon.

Otherwise take a bus to AK then walk around to the other side of the parking lot to stop #7 for the bus to AKL. It is a 5 min ride from AK.

It is not necessary to spend $10-15 for a taxi to eat breakfast.

Our last trip we took a bus from POP to AK and from there, waited for the resort bus to come

From MK take the Monorail, from AK take the bus (you cannot walk from AK to AKL).

The monorail doesn't go to AKL, or AK for that matter. The monorail only stops at the following places:

MK
TTC
Epcot
GF
Poly
CR

I would take the bus to Animal Kingdom and then go to the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus stop. I do think it's a good idea to alert your bus driver that you'll need a bus to the Lodge for breakfast.

Your bus driver will either take you to AKL directly after dropping off people at the park, or he/she will radio to dispatch to let them know there's a pickup for the Lodge.

I figured I'd mention this because the busses aren't on round trip routes. A bus that drops off at one bus stop can then be routed to pick people up at a different park or resort at any given time.

I can't imagine a taxi would be that much. I'd cab it to AKL then take a bus to whatever park you like. Otherwise I'd drive my own car or take the first theme park bus to come along, ride to the park, and and take the AKL bus from there.

We used a taxi last weekend and it was only $5 from our hotel to USF.
