We just signed our SSR contract for 250 points. I have spent hours going over our future vacation plans!!! I would love to know how many points you own and how you will use them this/next year.

Here is our plan:

Banking this year's points, so we will have 500 next year.

Our plan is:

May of 2005: 1 week in 2BR at VWL with family=314 points

June or July 2005: 1 week in studio at BWV or BCV=134 points

and we will bank the remaining 52 points.

How about YOU????:sunny:

A 2BR at the BWV for 8 days over Thanksgiving (3rd trip in a year to get the most out of our annual passes) and we rented the rest of our points to go on a 7 day Eastern Cruise next April.

Now planning for 2006.

We have only 150 points. They were banked from our purchase last July. We are heading to WDW July 2004 for 5 nights in a 1 BD at BCV. Still have the 150 from this use year available and may bank that until next year. We are struggling with purchasing 150 extra points anywhere (OKW has lots for sale via resale) but are still trying to convince ourselves to do this. We live in CA and both kids are in school so we can really only head there over summer vacation. I won't go for less than 5 nights and really would prefer 7 or more. We know we will soon need a two bedroom for the kids and are debating purchasing the extra points so we can stay annually in a 2 BD for a week or going every other year and banking the other year. To many decisions to make though.

You must be a bit closer to be able to hear to WDW twice in a few months.

We have 200 points.

DH & I are staying in a studio at SSR 12/25 - 1/1/05! I've always wanted to be in WDW at Christmas time & for New Year's Eve.

May of 2005 - 1 week in a studio at VWL(?)
October 2005 - 1 week in a studio at OKW(?)

2006 - Eastern Carribbean Cruise with some borrowed points.
And maybe a Sunday to Thursday at BCV(?)

Trying to get the most out of the 200 points as possible!!

And I love the planning part!!!

We spend 6 nights in a 2BR at BWV and 3 nights in a 2BR at VB this past February. We have rented some points to take a 4 night cruise next February. We will also be headed to Europe summor 05 and will likely stop at DLP. Don't know whether we will use the points or rent them and pay cash for the ressie, but somehow DVC will pay for it all! :) (322 points total here)

We are using 184 points for one week at SSR in early Dec. Then we rented out 326 points to pay for a cruise in Sept. '05. The renting out will also buy our AP's. We will have to borrow about 88 points from 2006 to be able to go to DW before the cruise and Vero after. We have 300 points.

207 bcv, waiting on rofr, 230 okw, 240 bwv, if rofr goes ok we will have 667, plus 230 banked okw need to use by 9/1/05,
dec 04, 1bdr bcv, plan 1bdr for a week in oct 04 if resale closes
i'll have 3 contracts, 3 resorts, 3 use years, my advice, buy as many as you can afford, never know when you might want extra points/longer trip/larger unit, etc
bcv points hardest to get on resale, that's why we decided to go for other contracts, we plan on using okw points to bump up to 1bdt at 7 month window whenever possible, plus we plan on banking all okw for a year, borrow if necessary and do the tuscany bike trippirate:

We already used 218 for a January trip. We have a short October trip in a GV planned which will be 190 points, and we have a 10 day December trip in a 2 bedroom also reserved. I think that one is 262 points.

May '04 - Three nights BWV 1B
December '04 - Five nights SSR 2B
And, to maximize those APs, we would like to squeeze in 4 or 5 nights at OKW in May '05.

We are leaving in 2 weeks for one night at Vero, followed by 7 nights on the western caribbean cruise. Using all our points from this year, and some from next year. Can't wait!:Pinkbounc

Now this REALLY gives me some ideas :)

DisneyHotMama--I guess we are closer than you (we're in Austin, TX), but we DRIVE to WDW so it sure doesn't feel close

Keep them coming!!!:bounce:

We always go down for the Flower & Garden in May, arrive Sunday, leave Friday.

We usually go attend the Food & Wine, and Not So Scary in October; Sunday thru Thursday or Friday.

We spend the first week in December at WDW to get into the Christmas spirit and to do shopping for the entire family.

We never stay Fri or Sat nights at DVC because it's too expensive, and I now work retail and am usually glad to work Saturdays.

Usually prefer a one bedroom, but have no problem with the studios.

In May a GV at OKW and then onto a cottage at VB. Then we are off to Williamsburg in Oct for a week. We were at WDW last Sept for a week. We love those 2 times a year vacations. Once at WDW and once we trade off.

We are doing eight days in a grand villa at OKW for our family bash over Thanksgiving this year. We also had to get two additional studios for all the people; one studio, we are renting points for since we ran out of points. There is going to be 15 people on this trip; can't wait!!!!!!!!!

We have 400 points. We are going in May for 5 nights in a 2-bedroom at BCV and then the 7-day Eastern cruise. We had to borrow a few points for this trip since we wanted a verandah. But there's still plenty for a nice trip in May of 2005.

We own 170 pts. Last yr rolled over aprx 90pts to this yr.
Our 1st trip "home" this Oct to the VWL 1B is aprx 167pts. We'll have those 90pts (from this yr) to roll to next yr for the cruise.
Have been rolling over pts since buying into DVC Nov 01.

Started out with 240

Used 94 on MLK weekend to stay at VB in Ocean View inn room (wow! what a view).

Reserved 5 days over Veterans' Day in a BWV 2BR std view @11 month window.

called back 2months later to see if we could get DVC discounted cash rate for weekend nights for BWV; and we got it (116 points to play with). I decided I might rent them and found a nice local family who really wanted to stay at BW, so am renting 118 pts for a BWV std view studio for 8 nights over Halloween. Gonna try to upgrade them to BW view or down to Std view (their initial request, save them some money and me some points). By selling off those points for the cash weekends, I am up $180 after tax on the arbitrage.

Then my Mom calls in February asking if I can advise her about sending my 64 yr old retarded Aunt to WDW with her very nice personal care attendant (really she wants to treat the addendant, who has always wanted to go to WDW) in May. This was just days after I had finished renting my points (d'oh!). So I investigate the rental market, a couple of deals fall thru, and we decide, what the heck, let's just add on the points (if available). Called my guide, no BWV points available, but have VB and SSR. I ask her to keep checking on BWV for 65 points. About 2 weeks go by, I get impatient, decide to buy 80 VB points (lower point cost, plus we love VB) on a Friday. Following Monday, Guide calls back, we got your 65 BWV points, and have charged your credit card; you still want the VB pts? (well I want them, but declined to save $$$). We then get both contracts, toss the VB ones (but for the lovely litho) sign the BWV ones. Tried to get BWV or BCV 3 months out, but only OKW studio available, so we grab it - 5 weeknights OKW for my Aunt, 1st week in May - 50 points.

So, there we go: 4 trips, only two of which my own family is taking. But now we're up from 240 to 305 points. Maybe I'll just see if we can grab a quick VB add-on with the tax refund or something.

Now 2005, plans have BWV std view 2BR for April Vacation for weeknights, AP rates at AKL and maybe Poly for the weekends. Then last gasp on the APs over Columbus Day 2005 in BWV 2BR BW view. It will put us in borrow mode a little, unless we add-on again. At least that is what my DVC PLanner software is showing me (thx Caskbill).

We have 230 at OKW and 250 at SSR. We'll have a family gathering at SSR over Halloween for one week. DW and I go at least twice during the winter by ourselves for a winter get-away. We'll have at least one week during January and then go again in March. Makes CT. winters tolerable.

Start with 270 in June...less the 24 I borrowed = 246

We are going to HH in a 2 bedroom with friends in June for 5 nights = 165 plus an additional night as a cash reservation.

Then, October 5 nights at SSR in a studio during food and wine festival for 55 points.

This leaves us with 26 points...and we hope to go in January 2005 but part will be over a weekend so we'll use up the points and go cash the rest of the nights.

And we thought 270 points would be enough for us...
