How will you spend your windfall $13 per paycheck increase?

How will you spend your $13 per paycheck windfall?

  • Pay down debt

  • Put it into savings

  • Blow it on extra Starbucks or McDonalds

  • Buy stock - $13 can buy a lot of stock these days!

  • Give it back to the government voluntarily because I am against bailouts or tax breaks

  • Duh - Disney fund, of course.

  • I probably won't even notice it is there

  • I make too much to be eligible to receive it

  • Other - because there has to be an other

So now that it seems the only truly widespread aid that will come out of the stimulus package will equate to roughly $13 extra per paycheck for most Americans, how are you going to spend your windfall?

While the concept that "every little bit helps" is certainly true, I can hardly see an extra $13 (from June to December, dropping to $8 next year in January) making a very big difference in most poeple's lives.

Response for us - probably pay down debt.

Although in reality it just puts us almost back to where we were on 12-31-08 - before our company health insurance premium was raised by around $15 per paycheck... so now we're only losing $2 per paycheck, so at least there is that...

I have a question for you.
When your health insurance premium was raised $15 did you care? Did you have any thoughts on the premium increase?

Thanks

Sure we care. Why wouldn't we? What kind of question is that? (Seriously, what is your point?)

I would donate any extra $$ I received back to the RNC. Judging by the way the Republicans are standing up to this bill, looks like they got the message from the last 2 elections. Hopefully in 2010, they can take back the house and senate and get a start on reversing this mess that the "messiah" is about to shove down our throats.

Well $13 a week over 7 months is $364....I could get a couple of round trip tickets to WDW for that :teeth: Mine will go into the down payment for the house I'm hoping to buy this summer though

I JUST WON THE LOTTO!!!! I GET $13.00, I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!

    :worship:

These posts are begining to remind me of the seagulls from Nemo:

We're on a trip planning forum...and we're going to complain about not getting more $$$?

:rotfl2: I love this one!!!

That will cover the cost of what we spend on milk for half a week.. I'm supporting the farmers I guess

Progress Energy will be getting mine. They just raised our electric rates 25%. Sadly, this won't even cover all of the increase.

put it away, for my kids who will have to pay it back to the Government at an insanely high price when they are adults. Considering I get paid once a month, the possibilities are endless! I agree with SSAVL, best suggestion yet.

It will go towards those bills that keep going up and up and up.

A mess about to be shoved down our throats. Hmm...as opposed to the mess that has already been rammed down our throats by the previous administration?

As for me? I'd glady give back my tax cut in support of more spending on infrastructure. You know...something that is actually stimulative. I think it's been proven time and time again over the last 8 that tax cuts don't work to stimulate the economy and they certainly don't create jobs.

$13 per paycheck x 4 paychecks per month (most months, two monts a year we get 6 paychecks as we are paid every other week) is $52 a month (or $78 in some months). That buys almost a weeks worth of groceries. Not life changing but nothing to sneeze at either.

We are trying to pay down debt, so it would go to that as all extra money after bills are paid goes to pay down our debt. If we didn't have any debt, we'd likely save it and/or invest it, as we have some medium and long term savings goals once the debt is gone.

Amen! ::yes::

with 2 in diapers, we'll use if for diapers. Wait a second, that won't buy a package of diapers a week.
Oh, well, it'll go towards groceries.
