How will the opening of POFQ affect POR?

We will be staying at POR from June 1-8. This is our first time at a moderate, and I had originally been interested in POFQ. However, it was closed at the time I received the Postcard, so I got POR for a great rate. I am glad that POFQ is opening back up right when we get there, we plan on walking over to check out the resort and try the pool. However, how else will this effect guests staying at POR, good or bad. I am mainly worried about the bus transportation and the boat to DTD. Do both resorts share the same busses and which gets picked up/dropped off first? Same with the water taxi? Will the POR food court, lounge or pool be busier because of POFQ guests? What are other benefits that we can take advantage of at POFQ? Thanks so much, just want to be prepared.

The buses stop at French Quarter first and then move on to POR. I would sugges that you wait at the main bus stop at POR, especially in the morning.

The boats are a ?. Used to be that the boats stopped at both places, but then they had set up boats for each resort. Since this resort is just reopening it's impossible to guess how this will be handled.

FQ has its own food court so there should be no noticeable difference at POR. FQ does not have a sit down restaurant so Boatright's may be a bit more crowded. I would definitely make PS's if you plan on eating at Boatrights.

You can utilize everything at both resorts. Basically there is more to do at POR so you may spend all or most of your time there. Many folks and kids like the pool at FQ. It's a nice walk from POR to FQ - highly recommend it!

You will have fun at POR!! :)

Thanks jaguar. I was pretty sure they shared busses. I just hope this will cause Disney to add more busses to accomodate both resorts. We plan on catching the bus at the Main stop so hopefully we will be ok. Thanks for the info!

We've stayed at POFQ and POR when both were open, and I would say that they are set up just fine to handle the load of guests at both.

The two resorts share bus routes, but when they are full, the buses run more frequently. The reopening of FQ will mean one more bus stop will be added (probably on the way back from the parks, although they do sometimes change the order of stops...) but it will also mean another pool you can try out!

I agree with jaguar9748 that ressies at Boatwrights are a good idea (they were a good idea even when Bonfamille's was open at POFQ).
