How will the airlines notify us if our flight changes?

I remember 6 years ago for our honeymoon or flight time changed a couple of times but I can't rember how I found out? I had a dream we missed our flight because it was changed lol

Many of the airlines have alerts you can set up...go onto the website for your airline and see if yours does. I have AA set up to alert me via e-mail and text message if our flights change. And that's ok for last minute, but I also check the day before and the day of to confirm our flight times online.

BTW, if they change your flight time you can always call them and tell them the new time is no good (if it's not in your favor) and tell them what flight you'd prefer to be on. They will generally change you with no fee!

Airtran just e-mailed me about the flight change.

Always check your flight status before heading out the door just to play it safe. :)

Definitely, definitely check!! You never know! I've checked numerous times since I booked our flights for our trip the end of this month. I would hat to get to the airport and realize that there was a change!

Generally speaking they won't/don't. When it comes to flying you need to be proactive. Its a good idea to check your flights and your seats every so often on line and if need be make adjustments. Airlines don't guarantee flight times or even seats - something many travelers aren't aware of.

I would also highly recomend checking the TSA website every so often before flying so you are aware of can be carried onboard vs what must be checked. There is also a great section on clearing security - if you don't fly often or haven't flown recently I would definatly read the TSA site.

We are booked on Continental for 12/26. Booked in March and have received 3 emails to date telling us that our flight time has changed. So far we have gone from 7:45 am to 9:15. Have a great trip!

When our flight changed in March we received an email. It had the new times and gates on it. So maybe keep an eye on that:thumbsup2

I booked with Airtran and they have changed my flight 3 times so far. I only got notification on one of those times. I would double check on the computer as time gets closer to your date. If they change your flight you have the option to decline the change and they will either issue you a refund or try to book you on a different flight. And for some reason I have trouble pulling up my ressie on the Airtran system which is totally frustrating!:scared1:

We've always received an e-mail if flights have changed... I usually check the day before the flight - maybe I need to check sooner than that. I never really considered it...

Agreed - be proactive! We booked our Nov flights in May and JetBlue has changed them 3 times since then but they've only e-mailed me to notify me about the first change. I found out about the other 2 changes by checking my itinerary on their website every week.
