EDIT to ADD: Disney just added EMH to AK from now until the end of May. This will affect the touring plans of everyone not staying on property.

Original post:

They just added EMH (8-9 a.m.) on our Animal Kingdom day.

We are NOT staying on property.

I am only going to the park because my mom wants to ride FOP.

Is it worth it to even bother or should we try HS instead and at least meet Chewie?

I'm really upset about this. My plan was to arrive at 7:30 so we could stand in line for FOP while it's not a million degrees out.

There were no FP at all available 30 days out.

Any suggestions?

Arg. That’s annoying. Sorry about that!

The line will be long, yes. Do you have a park hopper? You could go to HS in the morning and AK at night. People have had good luck hopping in line for FOP right before closing and waiting a (relatively) short time.

Good luck! Hope you have a fun time!

I would avoid AK in the morning and park hop there at night. Get in line shortly before park closing.

If you go to AK as an off-site guest right after EMH ended then the fop wait will likely be at 90+ min

No, we don't have a park hopper.

I feel like crying. I have checked every single day since our window to try to get FOP fast passes. And we are heading home (14 hour drive) around 3:30.

We don't really know yet how this is going to change FoP, if at all. There is an early EMH every day from this Sat through June. That SHOULD mean that onsite guests are already there and through or in a shortish line. I still think getting to AK around 7:00-7:15 will put you close to the front of the line for off-site guests and your wait could still be less than an hour once you're let into the park.

Ok, that makes sense. Also, in the next week maybe some people will post their experiences. We are going to be at AK May 8. My hunch is that many people with park hoppers will go straight to AK for EMH then go about their plans. Hopefully we'll get some more info over the next week.

Don’t rule out getting a FP the night before or day of. We had pre booked FoP FPs around 1pm, then got off the ride (it was our last prebooked FP of the day) and immediately got another FOP FP for one hour later! While waiting in the FP line for ride two, I got another FP for FoP! This was a party of 4 and the week before Christmas this year, so a busy time. So try the night before, keep refreshing, maybe rope drop and if line is already crazy, just keep trying for a same day FP. It definitely happens!

Following.... All my planning down the drain. Touring plans on June 12 has 2 tp 5 ish pm as a 2 hour wait. May try then ? Any advise would be great.

There is another thread on this. I am in the same boat as you but plan to go at park closing. I was able to get a Na'vi fp late in the evening-around 8 and then after that we will do standby for FoP. Hopefully all will go as planned. I'm doing the same thing for 7DMT.

I'm sorry this happened and ruined your plans. You can try for Same Day FP, I've refreshed on my phone and gotten 2 for FoP before just trying for fun. It is possible.

Ok, so here's my question: We have FP for Kili Safaris, Kali Rapids, and then Navi. Should we cancel one of these now in hopes of getting FOP?

I am not sure if that's a good plan or not. Hoping that people will pop in to report on their experiences with FOP and the EMH crowds as we get closer to leaving. In one week I will be in Orlando.

I would definitely be trying to change Nav'i for FoP. That's the only one you can change to FoP, because they are both Tier 1. Just click on that FP and change. If there is a FoP available it will show you. Nothing changes until you confirm the change.

I forgot about the tiers! And right now it is not letting me see what's available since I have 3. I somehow did not get my mom a FP for the Kili. Safari ride (oops) so I've just been looking for hers. I will have to play around with it once we're there.

You CAN see what's available. I don't remember the exact steps, but if you check the FP+ sticky, it will walk you through it.
