How will EMH affect FOP? Update: experiences at end.

They didn't have EMH this morning. The streak starts tomorrow, and really it will be some time into next week before we see what this means for offsite guests.
I didn't realize that. You're right. I am very interested to see what happens over the next few days.
Thanks.

I forgot about the tiers! And right now it is not letting me see what's available since I have 3. I somehow did not get my mom a FP for the Kili. Safari ride (oops) so I've just been looking for hers. I will have to play around with it once we're there.
You can see what's available by trying to modify your fastpass for Navi River Journey - it will show you the other options that are available to switch to. If FOP is available, it will show up there.

We are now 3 days in. It's 9:45 now and FOP is showing a 150 minute wait. I'll check tomorrow at 9 to see what it's like then.

I checked yesterday or the day before and it was 60 minutes right at 8 am. I think I am am mainly checking for EE though as that is my plan it it was still only a 5 min wait. I can't remember what it was at 9 but I think it was just 10 for EE which isn't bad.

Here is one person's report from this past week. One is better than none!! Hope some more will come in.

To your question, though - at about 8:50, the wait time for FoP was around 45min and NRJ was around 25min. By 9:20, wait time had shot up to about 85min for FoP and 55min for NRJ. I'll add that this was a weekend - so higher crowds overall. Pandora itself had moderate crowds within the land - with EMH guests steadily continuing to flow in between 8 - 9am, as well as a "second" RD crowd when the park officially opened (saw a few sprinters headed toward Pandora crossing the bridge). For offsite guests, best bet is to be in the park and ready to go before 9am when they release - there will still be a wait in Pandora but that wait time looks like it could double quickly if you're just walking up to the gates around 9am.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Anybody have any more updates on this?

I checked yesterday for an example.

At 9:10 am, the posted wait was 150 minutes.

At 6 pm, the actual wait was reported at 48 minutes.

As usual, early morning is by far the busiest time of the day with the wait times decreasing throughout the day and evening.

We saw long lines (SB) for it last week. We rode it with CLFP and felt it was wasted. Skipped our 2nd CLFP for it. People like different things. It's a popular ride.

For FOP, lines were incredibly long (over two hour waits when we got off at 9:30). CMs were utilizing the other SB line (across from the ride). NRJ line was beyond belief, imo.

I liken it to FEA. So many on here were meh about it but we liked it (with FP, would never wait in a line for it). NRJ . we didn't bother to use our CLFP on it the second time. One and one for us yet the SB line was enormous.

I wanted to report on our experience in case it will be helpful to others.

We were not staying on property so we did not have the EMH.
Our family members were. They got there around 8 and waited 45 minutes for the ride.

We got to the park around 8:15 - 8:30.
They sent all the people not with EMH to stand in a line between the boulders to the right (EMH entered on the left).
I could not tell how many people were in front of us.

Around 8:50 or so they started letting us in. People starting running, I mean RUNNING to FOP.
It was crazy. They were pushing and shoving. My mom had an ecv and she was being super careful because she was terrified she would run into someone. Everyone kept running in front of her.

We got to the ride and I dropped them off and went to the Safari.
They were done in just under 60 minutes.

The crowd calendar was predicted to be a 5 and stayed a 5. It seemed super crowded to me.
It was my first time at AK and I won't go out of my way to go again. If that was a 5 I can't imagine how you could walk through a crowd level of 7. Ride times were over 80 minutes most of the day for Kali. (We had FP).
I think the only strategy would be park hoppers and do a bit at a time.

We had fast passes later in the day for Navi that I got at 30 days out. 2:30 I think. That was beautiful.

Sorry that was your first experience at AK. It truly is a lovely park. We haven't been in two years so I am anticipating a mad house in a few weeks. Once the new wears off, I'm sure it will go back to being a lovely calm place.

If they have EMH and you can't do that, the line will be extremely long by the time you get in the park. When we had a FP for Navi, walking past FoP before park opening, the line was 60 minutes. Walking out of Navi, FoP was 120 minutes.
If you had a park hopper, going back in the evening, the line is often much shorter. We have had SB wait times of 20 minutes near park closing times.

It's still surprising to me that guests will wait hours for this ride in the morning when the wait drops to only a fraction of that in the evening.
