How will April 14-17 , 2008 be?

We are planning to go for May 5th. My best friend has been down there at that time before and the crowds were fairly low. The only problem we might have is with my stepson's mother not wanting him to take a week off of school. Which I understand, he is in 5th grade now. But i've heard such horror stories about going in April. We'll be driving there so I don't have to worry about high airfare. What do you think the crowds will be like during that week, it's our vacation week, as well as many other states i'm sure, but Easter is in march this year, so will that make it a little better or no??? HELP!!!!!!

We went April 6-12 in 2005, and the crowds were very low. We did use Fastpass, and we used the Unofficial Guide touring plans, but we only encountered short lines for the most part. I think Easter was the very end of March that year. Our kids always get a week off in March, but it's the same week a lot of colleges are off, so we chose to take them out of school in April for lower crowds. The weather was already quite warm, and it only rained for about 1 hour the whole week.
