How/When do you request a certain building?

Do you do it when you call and make your reservation or is that too far out?

We are planning our first trip for this fall (hopefully getting free dining) so we'll be going late Sept.

We are most likely staying in POR - should I make the request when I call to book the trip or wait until later?

We put the request in when we book the trip and then we fax the resort directly a couple of days before our trip. We then once more mention it at check-in. We have always gotten the section at CSR that we have requested.

Hey Brandy, Congratulations on your first trip to WDW. When I make our reservation, that's when I advise them as to which building and what view we would like. We also mention it when we check in as well. It's not guaranteed but at least they have it noted. Happy Planning.

We made the request with our travel agent (AAA) when we booked the trip and a few days before we left, she faxed them again with the request. We got not only the building that we wanted, but we also got the room we wanted! Good luck!

I've read somewhere that the resort's do not receive any of the information until 3 weeks prior to arrival, so it doesn't really help to call before that time. Like the other post read, request at time of reservation, but also a week or less prior to arrival. Even then if you arrive and it's not where you want, ask and then ask again. They will usually really try!
