how wet will we get on Splash Mountain and Kali River?

Its crazy to say I've never done Splash Mountain or the Kali River! Just wondering do you expect to get soaked or does it depend on the seat? Thanks in advance!

:)

I rode both this summer; Kali River I got completely soaked, but I was the only one out of the whole tube. So I guess it depends on the seat. It made the rest of the day miserable. On Splash Mountain I wore my poncho so it didn't ruin the day like Kali Rivers.
Hope this helps!

Plan on getting soaked to the bone wet on Kali. Sometimes a few miss it, but more often than not you get wet. Splash is not nearly as wet, but after the drop, if the log has to wait, you can get pretty wet with the side spray.

It is unpredictable. It varies every time. I had never gotten really wet on splash mountain until my last trip in October. I have ridden Kali a couple of times and only had my shoes and legs get wet while the people across from me got drenched from head to toe.

After the drop? I got soaked right after leaving loading area before going up the hill! Another log came down right before we started out ascent and I got a lap full of water! You never know with Disney water rides.

Pretty wet on Splash all the way to barely a spray...but I would ride it 100 times. You either get drenched on Kali or watch people in your boat get drenched...somebody's gonna get it. I will still ride it once while we are there, but the ride itself isn't that fun to me so it's not worth getting drenched over and over unless it's hot outside.

Like others have said it varies. I have always found that Splash is manageable with a poncho, however on Kali I have found even with a poncho I can still get soaked.

I feel the same. I am one of those that have come to demand outstanding theming from all Disney rides, or I won't do it. Kali just doesn't feel special enough to wait for and then to get soaked.

I've only ever gotten more than a spray on Splash when sitting in the front (which inevitably happens during EMH every time).

For Kali, I come prepared with a bathing suit and make use of the bathroom/lockers near the ride entrance. It's worth the quick change so I can enjoy the ride without caring whether or not I get soaked (50/50 shot, if you go backwards down the hill, it's you).

I've heard that people are now getting drenched in the 1st row of pirates since the latest renovation.

Kali depends if you go down the ramps backwards. If you are facing the drop you won't get as wet. Mainly your feet and pants.

Splash is all about weight distribution in the log. Thinner people in the front and heavier in the back with an even balance on either side and you will not get wet. We go a lot in the winter months and have mastered staying dry on splash. If you can stack folks in line to get in the log the way you need them to no one gets wet, even the ones in the front row. With the weight in the back the front of the log tends lift a little which keeps the waves from coming over and drenching everyone. We usually make friends with folks in line and explain our plan. If it is cold most folks will not mine at all.

Honestly, the wettest I got on Splash this last trip was when we got on and sat down in the puddles left from previous rides. The others are right; it's really hit or miss and you can't count on staying dry.

When I was in the College Program and would go to the parks on all my weekends, I would wear sandals that dried easily and carry a pair of rain pants with me -- roll them up, put them in a grocery bag, stuff them in my purse. I never minded my shirt being wet; wearing the rain pants meant that my crotch stayed dry and that was really the main thing. On this last trip we more or less just put up with being wet from water rides, but it meant two days that were a little miserable from getting wetter than we expected, plus we skipped Kali altogether to avoid making it three.

I like the swimsuit idea -- I have a pair of men's swim trunks that would be much less bulky than carrying the rain pants; could have had those in a plastic bag in my purse and just worn them on the water rides.

Last week on Splash Mountain my son and I sat in the back and barely got a drop. On Kali I got a little wet but my wife sitting to the left of me in the next two seats got completely soaked. We planned on doing Kali at the end of the day so we just left after that. Think our fastpass was at 4:30.

Ponchos might help on Splash, but not on Kali if you are on the seats that get the water (going backwards down the slope). The amount of water varies on Splash and I've never gotten as wet as on Kali. You get soaked to the undies on Kali. We do it on our way out.

Just plan to ride both (especially Kali) right before you leave the park...that's what we do! I looked like I'd jumped in a pool after riding Kali!
