Can anyone speak to the crowds last week? We were there the week after Thanksgiving and it was lovely, thinking of pushing it back a week for 2012.

Thanks.

I was there Tues to Thurs. Tuesday was pretty busy....still lingering from the Candlelight Processional weekend?? Wednesday was less crowded & Thursday was light. Even on Tuesday, the wait times wasn't really bad. (Space 40 mins as an example) I wouldn't have a problem going again during that time frame.

Not bad at all. I spent Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights in the park and had a great time every night. I was shocked how little I had to wait for major rides and how light the crowds seemed when walking around.

We were there Thursday Dec 8 thru Sunday Dec 11. I found Thursday and Friday to be pretty busy. Friday night was very busy and the park felt pretty crowded to us. I heard a few people talking about it being the last chance Annual Passholders could get in for the Christmas season before they were blocked out. We were able to manage fine as we had already collected fastpasses. That said, I don't think we saw a wait posted for more than 60 minutes (star tours). I am now a believer in looking at the Annual pass blackout schedule. Previously, I had not thought much of it but will look next time in our planning. We had a wonderful time!

I was also there Dec. 8-11. Thursday was okay, but I found Friday to be busy, and Saturday and Sunday to be totally miserable. That said, we usually ONLY go in the off-season, so I am not really used to crowds of any kind there. And I'm only five feet tall, so when stuck in a giant moving crowd, I can't see anything in front of me except armpits.
I bailed out way early on Saturday night because of the crowds (then went back for an hour and a half before closing), and left early for my flight on Sunday because I was just so over crowds. I won't go back during that time of year (would love to try the week after Thanksgiving though).

(For example, on Saturday morning, I stood in line for breakfast for about 35-40 minutes at River Belle Terrace. I was about to eat my own arm by the time I ordered.)

I spoke with a couple who lives there, and they said that it was the last weekend before they were blocked out 'til January, so that lots of CA residents were getting in one last visit.

We were there on Saturday and Sunday and found it to be pretty manageable. We went early, did a lot of the busy rides in the morning, collected Fastpasses throughout the day, and had a great time.

we were there Dec 10-13 - Saturday and Sunday were miserable crowd-wise, but we got in later on Saturday (not till 11:30 or noon) and my Mom was in an ECV so tight crowds were VERY tough on us. People kept running in front of her and the poor thing had never driven one before and was terrified of running over toes. It was like she was invisible :sad2: Pirates was a 50 minute wait, Haunted Mansion was usually an hour or more and the crowd did not die down at all until it was almost closed at midnight - seemed like no one left after the parade and fireworks like I am used to!

Monday it rained cats and dogs so the crowd was light but there was a lot we could not go on. Well, COULD, but it was outside and we were trying very hard to stay dry! The guide on the jungle cruise said that the people who came on were expecting the canopy to keep them dry but on the curves the gathered water on top spilled over on everyone since the boat is tapered. :scared1: We only made it until 2:30 or so until we were cold, wet, and gave up in favor of a tiki drink and a warm room! Disneyland closed at 6pm due to the cast member party as well so perhaps that helped with the crowd. One of the cast members told me that it has rained without fail for three years in a row on that Monday but beautiful Tuesday (she remembers since they have been having the party those days).

Tuesday was great, very low crowds, gorgeous weather! I wish we didn't have to leave to catch our plane... if I go again I am going to try my hardest for a midweek trip!! :teacher:
