It is a very long story. I am not sure if I can tell it all but I will try to give you the Readers Digest version.
Becky was to be at the store from 4 to 7. She would do a little ribbon cutting for the new card room. A stage was set up in the center of the mall, just outside the store for Becky to demo and to sign autographs. People started to line up at about 1:00pm. At about 1:15 the mall was evacuated. We heard all sorts of things but essentially portions of the roof were falling and water was leaking into electrical boxes.
We were all heart sick. There was a crowd of women standing out in the mall parking lot in the drizzling rain when the press showed up. Did we have a story for them!
The marshal arts studio about 1/4 mile west of the mall offered their studio for us to have the event today from 11 to 2pm. It was an intimate little gathering of just under 200 people.
Becky is such a gracious lady and is very much a class act. She demoed a few cards. I won one of them in the raffle. It was a lot of fun. We got a lot of personal time with her.
It was not the extravaganza we had planned for but it still was great day.
