How Was 24 Hours at MK and DL?

There is a thread on the Disneyland forum. From the few responses there and based on people's comments on Mouswait it was pretty hectic there. LOTS of people and too many of them who reeked of alcohol and weed. Long lines and rude guests all night long. I'm looking for positive reviews but am having a hard time finding those. We have a friend in our neighborhood who went, and I can't wait to hear how his experience was.

Ok I'm barely awake so this is gonna be short:
We spent 24 hours at WDW. We encountered nothing but friendly guests starting at the 5:00 am line by the turnstiles. Everbody was super excited and pumped, when they let us in for the welcome show we were given commemorative ears and pins.
This pretty much had everybody jumping up and down with happiness. I was way at the front and made it to the emporium easily, the tshirt tables were mobbed, but fellow guests passed me 2 tshirts when i looked a bit confused about the size labels LOL.

We rode every single ride in the park, most of them early or late. Visited Mickey and Minnie and got to see them on their pjs, had dinner at the plaza at around 11 pm (I actually made reservations for this at 4 pm the same day), our server there was fun and very nice even though he was tired, he was awesome.

The most crowded thing we wanted to do was the sorcerers game, it was consistently busy, but everybody playing it that we interacted with was friendly and having fun.

We left the park as the clock struck 6, Cinderella bid us goodnight perched atop one of the sides of the train station and CMs sprinkled us with pixie dust (mickey confetti).

We walked back to the contempo and just managed to wake up.

This is a condensed version, but to resume: we had a blast!

It's fun hearing the stories and experience.

PP, did you happen to notice anyone riding on the PeopleMover...over and over again. If they did it, I think it is crazy. But then again, I might have joined em! Though after a few hours, I would probably start hallucinating that I was sitting with Mr. Tom Morrow myself. :rotfl:

Sounds like you had a great time! I assume you weren't one of the DISers to wear pajamas to the park?

Why, yes I was lol I wore Agent P pajama bottoms and my one more Disney day shirt. I also carried a snuggy LOL.
I joke with DH telling him that, the last time we had been in MK at 5:00 I was wearing a wedding dress, quite the difference.ROFL

Had an awesome time with my three adult sons. Yes, it was crowded, yes the lines were long. But I think most took it in stride and were well behaved for the demographic DLR drew and for the amount of people there were.

That's great!:wizard:

I actually go to MK entrance today about 3:00am. The Parking lots appeared crowded. I would say about a hundred people got off the monorail at the same time I did (the Resort Beam was the only one running(.

I met up with my Grandnephew and a roommate and some friends of his. We did several attractions including the Teacups, Speedway, HM, Space and I ended up doing the People Mover about 5:45 and the lights were on inside Space. The singing at The Hub ended at 6:00 and all the stores were closed at that time; there were plenty of CMs directing people out.

I ended up going to a Perkins just off property on 192 for breakfast and got to work at AK gate about 15 minutes prior to my scheduled arrival time.

I got an early release at Noon, came straight home, and then took a nap for about four hours.

Got in on the 28 th and got bed at midnight, just too much to do to sleep. we got up at 3 AM got neat and pretty and went to McDonalds and got coffee. That wasn't too bad since we were at the all star. We got to MK at 430 checked in for our free hat and button and went to stand in line at the monorail. The ferry boat was closed because of heavy fog. We got to the MK on the first monorail and went and got a locker (best idea all day!) we stood around waiting for the welcome show and taked to a lot go wonderful people. Went in at six AM and rode rides and took pictures and shopped. Lines were not bad, people were pleasant. We were having a great time. As it got later in the day, the crowds started to pick up. A number of people were in PJs. By 10PM we were Disney Zombies. By midnight we were contemplating a few rides on COP to get a few minutes of sleep, but didn't. At 3 AM we gave up, somehow got back to our room and slept til 6 AM.

A lot of people were playing the sorcerer game and it seemed there was always a line at each station. We quit because we want to have to find the stations instead of find the line.

Funniest thing I heard? A women who knew English, but not well, asked a CM where the bathroom was he pointed with two fingers and said behind those trees...the lady was aghast and said behind trees thinking she was using the trees.....

Rode all rides at least twice except Splash Mountain (did not want to be wet).
Gave my button to a little girl who did not get one. Everyone was nice and pleasant.

Kind of surprised at how many toddlers I saw out late.

That's too long for a nap. Let's call it a bad night's sleep.

Great summary! I'm glad you had a great time!:cheer2:

I'm just getting ready to go to bed and get some actual sleep versus the few hours I've caught here & there.

Here's my brief, perhaps cryptic, zombie OMDD report:

Stayed at CR; it was great to going back & forth even when my feet hurt and my body ached and I walked the zombie walk.
Headed to MK at 5:15 on 2/29. The crowds were already immense and packed in between the turnstiles and the train station. We made our way in, talked with lots of nice people. A kind local woman gave my Mom her OMDD button. Got teary over the MK Welcome show.
Headed in at RD-I went to ride Space Mountain while my Mom hit the Emporium for shirts. She said everyone was orderly and helpful but the line went through the entire store and out onto the street. Took her about an hour.
I got to meet Tink with NO line at 6:45. Hit Peter Pan, Pooh, signed up for Sorceres of MK (the sign up line at Fire Dept was about 20 mins and kept getting longer in the AM hours). Did 3 SotMK stations but grew frustrated with the lines at each portal. Figured I'd come back to it later but never did. Saw lines on minimum 4 groups up to lines of at 20 groups at each portal ALL day and night. Even at 5:45am!
Rode Pirates. Grabbed at Nutella & fresh fruit Waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hallow (thanks for the review DIS Unplugged team - new must do location).
Did the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Our guide Matt was incredible and it was a great experience. Lasted close to 6 hours! It was a very worthwhile tour.
Rode the WDWRR - checked out Splash but didn't want to wait 40 mins so we left the park to go nap. Back to CR for a 2 hr nap. Dinner at Cali Grill. Watched Wishes from our table. Very cool vantage point for seeing this show. I'd recommend doing it at least once.
Back to MK in time for the 10pm ELP. Went to my 10:30pm Give Kids the World meet at Pirates of the Caribbean. Meet a nice group of people. Pirates went down before we could board so, we diverted to Snow White.
Hit the Midnight Meet with Touring Plans. Talked with some nice people. Rode Haunted Mansion right around 12:30am. It was such a fun experience to ride with a bunch of other Disney geeks who know all the lines and are into the spook factor. You could help but love it!
I 1am I joined up with other DIS friends for the TouringPlans Great Race/scavenger Hunt. It was a riot and perhaps the highlight of the entire event. We had so much fun riding attractions, searching for trivia answers, racing to each check point and "psyching out" other teams.
After the race, we went to take a ride on it's a small world before it closed for the night. Got a Dole Whip float at 4am. Rode TTA. Got a breakfast waffle sandwich at sleepy hallow (awesome). Hit Jungle Cruise. Caught tail end of Magic, Memories & You (thought it was at 5:45 but it was done before 5:30). Caught the Carousel and rode Snow White for a final ride ever.
Waited for a Good Night Kiss or something but didn't see much so I started the zombie walk back to CR at 6:05 am.
Slept 1.5 hrs before getting on ME to the airport. Slept the entire way on the plane. Now it is bedtime for bonzo.

G'Night!

G'Night!

You had a very busy and fun day! Would you do it again?!

Got to the MK about 2:30ish, just after last call. ;) Total spur of the moment with my brother and SIL. It was amazing to see how many people were still flooding in at that time. Stayed until close. It was so fun!

After I worked for 10 hours during the day, DH and I went to MK and got there by 9pm. It was quite busy at the entrance, but it seemed like the crowd thinned out a little once inside.

We focused on meeting characters, just a couple rare ones: Dwarfs with Snow White (2 hour wait), Flynn with Rapunzel (up to 3 hour wait), and Captain Jack Sparrow (75 min wait). The rest were your regular characters, plus Mickey and Minnie were in PJS (90 min wait).

Here is my One More Disney Day facebook album of the night

Thank you for sharing those photos-I LOVE Mickey and Minnie in their PJ's!!:goodvibes

How fun that Flynn was there with Rapunzel!

Great pictures, as usual, Berlioz70! Thanks for sharing!:)

Ouch!
TWO HOURS for character meet-n-greets?!.....
It's probably a good thing my son wasn't there....( although he sure did want to be!)
That's as bad, or maybe even worse than Halloween and Christmas were!
