~How TWO trips became...who knows? ~ It's a TRIP! and an upgrade.... 4/22

Don't forget that the Poly beach is supposed to be a great place to watch Wishes as well!

Alison

I'll second watching Wishes from the Poly Beach. I have wonderful memories of snuggling my Maddie watching Wishes sitting on the beach :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Hmm...

Now that sounds fun! :) But maybe something I do on my own one night. That would be so relaxing. Can anyone just go to the beach and hang out and watch them? What would you take to sit on? I can imagine a hammock...do they have a hammock you can chill on? :)

They totally have hammocks! That would be a great way to watch Wishes. :thumbsup2

Do they pipe in the music too? I may have to think about this myself. :)

I'm fairly certain they do, actually. I'll have to ask Tink the next time I talk to her, I know she stayed at the Poly last September.

Oh, I am SOOOOO excited!

So...I am thinking...on the night I am by myself. Eat at Ohana's for dinner - since it has built in entertainment and I will be by myself - but early enough to get to the Poly Beach in time to enjoy it, grab a hammock with a view and let the fireworks wake me up from my nap! :cloud9: :cloud9:

Ah.

Wishes. :cloud9:

So...that takes care of Ohana and Cali Grill during this trip...Now I need to figure out how to get Narcossee's and Citrico's in on the next few trips. :scratchin

Flights! Flights! Flights!

The DISboards save the day again! :) I saw "Breaking News" on another thread (thank you - TK) and booked my Southwest flight for my September trip! :cool1:

It was sorta strange...because the non-stop flight was already "full" or "unavailable"...very odd. Considering this is the first day to be able to book it! Even business class was booked up. Makes me nervous, honestly...why would someone book a whole plane to Orlando on Labor Day weekend? From Mississippi? :confused3

But, it really doesn't matter, because I have to take the long flight with the stop in Houston - which is literally BACKWARDS? - because I can't take off any time from work on that day. I will leave straight from work (get off at 3:00) and go to the airport. I won't arrive in Orlando until 11:30 (but 10:30 my time!). It will be a late night!

My return flight is on Sunday at 3:00 something...which will give me a little more time to hang out in Disney and still get me home at a decent hour! :)

And all of this for... $220! That is not too bad. I may be able to get a DING fare between now and then...although I sort of doubt it since I am flying Labor Day weekend there and returning on a Sunday. But $220 is not bad for round trip! :) Now I just need to figure out how to get out of parking at the airport!

Ok...

So, experts out there...How do I do Magical Express? Southwest does not participate, right? And it is after 11:00 anyway...so I would have to get my luggage either way.

Will I have trouble getting a Magical Express pick up that late? How will they know I am there? I am a little nervous about this whole bus thing - not grossed out by the bus - just wondering if it will take me where I need to go...is it reliable?

Yay for booking flights!!! :woohoo:

I am so clueless on the whole magical express thing. I've never used it, so hopefully someone else can help you out here.

Uh oh... you have never used it? :confused3 Are you guys renting a car? Taking a limo?

Um, yes.

We spoil oursevles.

Hey, I have heard great things about magical express, but I have no desire to try it. I know it works awesome for a lot of people, but we have our favorite guy that we've been using to take us to and from the airport for years.

No joke. I think I've known him since the end of high school, if not college. He's really like part of the family. :goodvibes

Do you have a pre-trippie started?

Awesome!! Makes it that much more "real", doesn't it!! :goodvibes

Kathy

Sure does! :) And it feels "committed"...ya know what I am saying! The real money is on the table. And I am SOOOOO excited! :)

I have not asked off work yet...I guess I should go ahead and do that. ;)

Oh my gosh! I know you! I love your trip reports...you crack me up!

But...I did not see a Sept pre-trippie...so I will have to go and read your May/June pre-trippies! :)

DME: There's confusion about what a "participating" airline means

Southwest DOES participate with luggage transfers. What they DON'T participate in is resort check in. What you do is go to concierge to print your boarding pass 24 hours prior to departure. But otherwise - you're covered for transportation.

However, since you're coming in late (past 10PM)- you'll need to pick up your luggage from what I understand. This has recently changed - I know with certainty that they won't deliver luggage 24/7 anymore (any airline, not just southwest). So your best bet is to pick up the luggage when you arrive (or I'm assuming they'll deliver it the next day.). But you should confirm with the CM at Disney (via CRO).

Was that helpful or just more confusing? LOL

Hi! I just wanted to say THANKS for the heads-up! I was just grumbling yesterday about Southwest not posting their fall schedule yet. I am so excited! :goodvibes

I gave a shout-out to you in my PTR.

I didn't book our flight yet. Our flight, after taxes & fees, is $110 each way. Do you think that's good? (it's a 2 hour flight) I just wonder if I should wait longer?:confused3

No, but I will soon - I have a big one coming up in April/May, so I've been really focused on that lately.

I just read the whole thing! Still trying to figure out how you get off so much with your job. I am jealous! :)

Your songs are hilarious. I am totally subbin...totally in. Can't wait to read the TR and see the Sept pre-trippie. :)

Whoa...Yeah...I am very confused. lol

I will have to research this. But first I need to talk to Sharon and see when she might be coming into town...I might be able to get a ride. Or rent a limo? :confused3

You are very welcome! TarzansKat had the "breaking news" on her pre-trippie today! I am so excited!

Hmm...Not sure on waiting vs not waiting. It made me nervous that a whole flight was already booked when I looked, so I went ahead and purchased mine. I also have about a 2 hour flight. Mine was also about $110 each way including fees.

But, I also will check DING each day and just re-book or whatever I would have to do and use the credit on a later flight. I will be going back to the World 3 times within the year...surely I will fly at least once! :thumbsup2

I am going to go check out your pre-trippie! :)

Congrats on getting your airfare!!!! The price was pretty good too!!!!:goodvibes
It makes it just a little more 'real'!:thumbsup2

Hi there!!! We are overlapping by a few days...we get there Aug. 30 and leave Sept 6. I also bought my tickets on Southwest this morning! And got what I needed...$374 total for two people!

I have no idea how Magical Express works, but I know that when I tried to enter my flight information into the system it didn't seem to want to take it :( So I'm not sure what to do about that one!
