How tough at 7 months...

How difficult is it to book a resort at 7 months for say last two weeks in April (non Easter week) or end of June for a family of 4 in a studio? We are thinking of buying at AK but don't want to be locked in to one place. Not really worried about get BLT or BCV during F&W, just want other options. Most trips will be April school vacation if Easter is early or end of June. Thanks in advance!

As long as you don't care what resort you stay at you should find something available. We have always been able to find rooms at 7 months. SSR is typically the last resort to fill up.

We have now booked 3 DVC vacations, 2 of which were at the 7 month window and didn't have any problems. We own at AKL and that was out last trip (June 2012) so we booked that at 11 months. Our first trip was in 11/2010 at BLT, 2 bedroom 8 nights with a MK view and it was no problem. Last week I booked our next trip for 02/2013 at BWV, 2 bedroom 8 nights with a boardwalk view and it wasn't a problem at all. Hope this helps!!

I think that if you call right at the 7 month time frame, you should have no problem getting a studio at one of the other properties during those time frames on a regular basis.

It sounds like you are flexible and willing to try them all so as long as you are happy with AKV if there are times when what you can get isn't exactly what you want, then you should be fine.

I do think that travel around Easter will prove more difficult at 7 months then the end of June, but again, when you call right at 7 months, it should be fine...

Also remember that many owners book their own resorts at 11 months so they will be changing at that time too so that will open things up..

I stayed at BWV the last week of April/first week of May this year and there were still pool/garden view rooms available when I checked the day before I left. I was able to get AKV at the end of April and in June at 7 months in the past. We were even able to get concierge at AKV at the end of June at 7 months. I don't think either time is big for DVC. DVC's busiest period is October through December, even into January with the marathon.

I booked a one bed LV and a two bed LV at BLT for Apr 29-May 6 of this year at 5.5 months out. I was shocked at all the stuff that was open when we booked.
