How to you spell 'sir' in spanish

I'm not sure there is a word for "sir". I could be wrong but I would just use senor. With '~' over the n.

To spell the word S-I-R in Spanish....S, I, R...the letters are exactly the same in Spanish, just pronounced differently....hehehe...sorry! I'm felling a little slap happy after doing 7 loads of laundry, changing all the bedding, cleaning the house top to bottom and grilling steaks for dinner. I'd swear if I was pregnant I'd be ready to pop out that baby any minute...nesting ya know.

Anyway, the equivalent word in Spanish for "sir" is Senor with a tilda (~) over the N.

On a mac you press "apple"+ N and then just N.

On a pc you press alt+164.

In Word, you do this:

Insert
Symbol
the n with the symbol above it is under "Latin1"

I used to live in New Mexico and I'm a secretary. Many of the street names use this symbol. :teeth:

thanks bubie2.5.....ALT 164 works perfect!

NMAmy, I don't have Latin1 as an option....thanks though.
