How to use the Dining Plan with the Magic Bands?

It's been awhile since we have been to Disney World. I have never used Magic Bands.

It's my understanding that everything you need is on the Magic Band, tickets, meal plan, etc.

Can someone explain to me how the Magic Bands work in regard to the dining plan. For example.....if the counter service area is crazy busy, can just one person from the group go up and order for the family? If yes, how is this done? Does the person doing the ordering have to have all of the magic bands for everyone who wants to eat? OR is all of the dinning credits available on each persons band.

I don't use the dining plan but from what I understand it is all bundled together now so if everyone is connected on MDE, then one person should be able to do it.

Yep, that's how it works!

FYI, there is nothing on the band itself other than an ID number that links to your account in a computer somewhere. If the system goes down they don't work.
