I am going with my mom in December and she will need to avoid stairs. Is the process the same as if one has a wheelchair or ECV (which she may or may not)? Just go to the CM at the attraction and ask for a time?

Yes, that is what I have done in the past specifically for Jungle Cruise.

There are only 4 rides I can think of that we would need this on. Thunder Mnt., Jungle Cruise, Radiator Springs Racers and now I can't think of the 4th. We will be skipping a lot of the bigger rides due to back & neck issues.

What does LRT stand for? My mom is going in February and cannot do stairs. I was curious how this would work for her.

It is line return time. You go to the CM at the entrance and explain that you/someone in your party can not do stairs and they will give you are time to return equal to the current wait time. Then you can go do something else in the area, shop, get a snack or just sit somewhere until it is time to ride. Then you go through the alternate entrance, usually the exit to ride.

I just remembered another ride with stair it's a small world. Also Autopia, but we will skip that attraction.

There is an elevator adjacent to the stairs at Indy.

At Jungle Cruise there is a CM at the foot of the stairs. I ask if I can wait there while the rest of my party goes up to the second floor and I rejoin them when they come back down.

My knees only have so many stairs in a day. Twice since the changes, I have asked at Jungle Cruise if they were using the upstairs part of the queue and they were. Cast members gave me the return times with no problems at all.

Edited to add - At rides like Small World, Toy Story or Radiator Springs Racers where the stairs are at the exit, ask to board on the accessible vehicles to avoid stairs exiting. Should not be a problem.

Thanks! And thanks everyone for sharing their tips!

Most rides approach a cast member who will direct you where to go to get a return time, which is usually how long the standby time is, I believe you can have 6 people in your party, but all members of your party have to be present to show tickets to receive the return time

RSR will typically have you wait in the normal line (as it is fully accessible/no stairs till exit) and then when you get to the last cast member they will send you down to the accessible vehicle loading instead of the regular platform.
