How to time "pirates" events?

We'd like to do these things bak to back...

1. Pirates League for grandson aged 4
2. Dinner at the Wave
3. Pirates and Pals Cruise (website shows event time as 7:45 on our dates)

What time would you schedule Pirates League and dinner? We are looking for efficiency so the little guy can go right to dinner from the Pirates League.

ETA - we don't want want too much "down time" between dinner and P&P since there will be an additional 3 children at dinner besides grandson.

I think for the Pirates and Pals cruise you can get there an hour ahead of time - they have snacks and desserts. So that would be getting there at 6:45. You could do dinner at 5:00/5:30.

You could do dinner at 5:00/5:30.

Thanks...also considering bringing along our own pirate costume and doing a little make-up in the resort room which would greatly simply the evening and he'd be just as happy:)

If you look on the website, they ask you to arrive 10 minutes before event time, which would be 7:35 pm. I would probably book dinner for 6:15 pm as The Wave really doesn't take very long. If he would be just as happy getting dressed up in the resort room, I would do that! It would definitely simplify your evening.

As a bit of advice, unless you don't want the kids to have the snacks/treats, I would NOT eat just before PnP! They have so many yummy things for the kids to eat. Because of a combination of not knowing any better and being so delayed for our dinner reservation, we had just eaten. (And we were really hungry and only had about 40 minutes to eat. It was not fun!) One of my boys in particular was so full already, he couldn't enjoy the treats and he was very sad about that. Next time, we are going to schedule a late lunch.

We ate at the quick service next to Chef Mickey's (Contempo cafe?) before pirates and pals... the kids just got like a yogurt or something. It was quick, and easy for each member of our party to get a different amount of food depending on how much room they wanted to save for the party goodies.

I totally agree with this. It's so much food. I would give them a light healthy snack a couple hours before and then let them engorge themselves on the treats, especially since you are the grandparents and have the right to sugar them up :)

Sorry I had it wrong about the hour ahead of time. I was remembering that it starts one hour before fireworks! Sorry about the mix-up.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the event time at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Lobby.
  • This event begins one hour prior to the scheduled fireworks time
We are planning on this to - so good thing I reread the website or we would have been there way too early!!!!

I agree with the PP's. We actually ate at The Wave prior to Pirates and Pals and few years ago and then barely ate anything at the party. There is SO much food there! Having some snacks at Poly CL or something small at a QS would probably work out better than a big TS meal if you want to indulge at the party!
