How to thank your TA

I have found the best TA, she is through our local AAA office and I can't say enough about how great she has been. Not only is she knowledable about Disney but she is on the ball about discounts and that sort of thing. In fact she has got pretty much convinced me to try a land/sea package for 2007. When we return from our 2006 Disney vacation we are going to get together with her to plan our 2007 vacation. So my question is I would like to do something nice for her and since it is Christmas time what would be a nice thank you gift? Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you

I also would like to send my TA more than just a Christmas card. She has been so wonderful about letting us know about discounts, then changing our resort and adding a package for us, all while keeping us informed about what would be the most advantageous cost-wise. Not to mention that she made all our ADRs and I had her change them at least twenty times since then. All this with a cheerful attitude, always promptly, and never a complaint. By the way she is Deb Kuhns with Your Magical Journeys. I'm thinking about including a gift certificate in her card.

I sent some flowers to my TA a month ago after she saved us another $135 with the winter codes. She really bent over backwards for us in getting our room requests in, etc. After our trip, I am going to send a note to her supervisor to let him/her know what a wonderful job she did.

I sent some candy to my TA after my September trip. She was so helpful and a pleasure to work with. Yes, she received a commission from Disney, but I wanted her to know how much I appreciated her work.

I think one of the greatest rewards is when a client returns from traveling and tells you what a great time they had. :goodvibes

I used to work at an AAA office (not as a TA) and some of the travel agent's clients would do a really nice thing:

They would come back from their trip and ask the TA if they could take them out to lunch as a thank you. Nothing expensive, just to Panera or Quiznos or something, but I thought it was a nice guesture. The TA's like to hear how the clients trip was and see pics. You could just call and as the TA when she gets her lunch break- they get 45mins.

When I was younger, my parents always booked through AAA and they would send the TA a postcard while on vacation thanking them and letting them know we were having a fun time.

That's a great idea, Steph. Disney even suggests that TAs ask their clients to do so, and then keep all their postcards in a photo album to show prospective clients. Not sure how genuine that is, though, if the TA asked for it.

Also, recommending the TA to friends and family is a really nice gesture. Let her know each time you have a "lead" for her.

I agree - as a TA, I think it'd be wonderful to get postcards from guests, and I LOVE getting emails letting me know what a great time they had. Another best way? Refer them to friends/family and such. That is the gift that keeps on giving. :) I did receive some flowers once, though a couple of times I didn't give my address out when asked because I didn't want the guest to buy me anything (when they said they planned to). Next time, I'll give it - if I was in the same position (as guest), I'd want to be able to do something nice.

Those are great ideas! I think the postcard idea is awesome, I will have to do that. I am thinking about taking her some candy or I thought maybe a gift certificate since I don't get a real lunch break at my current job. But once again thanks for the wonderful suggestions.
