Another thing that I forgot about was that when my DD was that small I always carried around a small bottle of cornstarch baby powder. She used to sweat so much in the heat of the day even if she was just out a bit and the folds of her neck would get a rash. The cornstarch was the best solution to this. Don't go crazy with it and get poweder everywhere but be aware of this delicate little area and the effect heat has on it. Also, I am serious Bounce dryer sheets work to repel mosquitos. Just tie one through your belt loop or around the stroller leg or arm. Dont ask me why but it works. I have heard of some people even rubbing it over their arms etc and it works.
Onsies always work but the lightweight cotton outfit is equally a good idea. Just don't forget that even if more of her is covered that does not mean that the sun has been thwarted, We have very strong sun and babies (and adults) can still get burned through clothes unless you are carefull. I always put mine in the special sun protected suits like I posted earlier. They also make floppy baby hats that cover their necks out of the material as well whcih work great with other outfits. Pools have always been apart of my dd life as we live in so fla. The only thing is the 1st time in one frightened my dd so yours may not be as impressed as you think she will be. Just introduce it slowly. Some type of little baby float might be an idea so she is supported. you can be right in her line of vision but she could also get wet if she wanted just of course never leave her alone in one.
Bottom line is use your common sense. If you are hot then she absolutely is hot and drink lots of water yourself so you can take care of her. Second most important to keeping safe... Have Fun!!
