Just a few tips for how to stay cool at the parks.

1. ALWAYS take water with you. Drink it before you feel thirsty. Make sure you have more then enough water for each member of your group.
2. Freeze some of your water bottles or get the wide mouth water bottles and fill all of them with ice at the hotel before the day. Cold water in you and sometimes on you will cool you down faster then room temp water.
3. Get up early, go to the parks (early entry maybe) as soon as it opens, get out by 11, get back to the hotel and cool off.
4. Part of #3, take a mid day shower and/or dip in the pool. If you can, esp. with young kids, take a nap.
5. Part of #3, go to the parks when it is dark if you can.
6. Part of #1 and #3, refill those frozen/iced water bottles before returning to the park.
7. Go lite on the food. Eat too much in the heat and you will make yourself sick.

I lived in FL and it is not just the heat but the humidity. Watch out for it, it can kill you.

Forgot to mention sun block. Wear it and reapply it. Nothing makes your hotter then a sunburn.

Great tips :)-here's another one

Bring one (or more) of those microfiber cloths in a ziploc baggie. Add water (and ice!) for a cool, refreshing cloth to wipe off with, wrap around your neck, wipe of things after a rain burst, etc. We find them better around the neck than those tubes filled with those crystals. Just twirl the cloth around for a few seconds and it cools down again.

If you forget your own cloths, grab a few washcloths from your room.

While in the parks, refill water bottles with free ice water from CS locations.

We also used a misting fan filled with ice water to cool off while walking around. We also walked through as many stores as possible while getting from point A to point B.

I think wearing a hat is a good idea.

what is a CS location?

CS= Counter Service (or sometimes called QS, Quick Service)

Basically any counter/quick service location will give you ice and/or ice water free for the asking. :goodvibes

Walking through stores and/or shade is a great tip. We do this too.

Best way to keep cool? Don't go to Florida in the summertime. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Another very inexpensive way to stay cool in the summer months is by using a "break" style first aid Ice Pack. You can get them at any CVS/Walgreens and they are cheap!! Take a couple with you when you go to the park, and cool off when the need arises. The beautiful thing is they get cold, but don't sweat due to their not being any water so it is a dry cold. My wife and I usually take two apiece with us, and have never had any problems!

They are very inexpensive, in fact, you can usually find them two for a dollar at Target or Wal-Mart. Sometimes Dollar Tree and other discount stores carry them as well, but you get what you pay for!!

inside shows like the 3D shows for the hottest times of the day. All are large and cool.

Ok, I need to say it...deodorant, please everyone?! There is nothing worse then standing on line when it is hot and people don't use it. I even bring a small one with me to reapply during the day. Sorry, had to mention it.;)

I agree! My dream is to ship a case down and hand out all day to everyone that needs it.
