how to ship myself items??

Hello, i've read several posts where people ship themselves food and supplies before they arrive. How long before your trip do you do this and how long will they hold it for you? Do you write anything special on the shipping address like room # or "guest." I will be staying at SSR. Do i send it there or somewhere else? thanks for your help, btw my first trip is in june

I have sent a Christmas tree down 4 times for the Christmas tree exchange, and I did ship water/sand toys for the DGC a few times as well. I call the shipping company for a time estimation and I plan on the box arriving about a week before I do. It's always worked. I put my name or in the case of the Tree exchange the person who will be picking up the package and the date of arrival. I do not put the reservation number on it. The resorts I've sent to have been BWV and VWL, and I use the address that was on my reservation.
