My BF and I are at different colleges a long long distance apart.
It is my 21st birthday on November 14th which is a Monday.
So my BF will come and visit for the weekend but will have to be back at college on the day of my birthday, which obviously sucks.
On my birthday I would like to have dinner with my closest girl friends, but a couple of them have BFs here at college, who I would also consider my friends (but not close friends).
How do I politely request that my friends don't bring their SOs for dinner?
Not because I wouldn't enjoy their company, but because it would be a bit of a yucky reminder that my own BF was not there with me on my birthday.
Is that unreasonable of me?

All I can think of now is "Save the drama for your mama!"
