How to Rent Points?

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum and want to better understand how to rent my points, what is usually required from renters (contract agreement, deposit, etc.), what information I need to provide potential renters and what I should be careful to watch for in order to protect myself as well as the "Disney Experience" for my fellow DVC members.

For example I have 93 points for OKW that needs to be used by July 2006 (or banked by April 30th). Where would I start?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have used this system successfully. I don't have a formal contract but my attitude is that I will use any that the renter wants provided that it is posted somewhere on disboard forum.

I have had some deadbeats who, after not paying, decide to cancel but it has always worked out for the best.

You don't have many points so I would try and get someone to take them all in one shot.

Any particular reason why HOW TO RENT or IS IT TOO EARLY TO RENT posts have been moved FROM the rental/trade board to the DVC planning board? Aren't these much more relevant to the rent trade board and will receive more notice from owners that do alot of renting? I always thought the DVC planning board was more for current owners, not those looking to rent or get rental info. Just wondering, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for posts being moved these days

I think posts are being removed from the rent/trade board b/c the mods would like to keep it strictly as an ad forum. Also, there is more activity over here, giving the OP more of a chance to hear multiple points of view.

That's exactly right, although they are usually moved to this board, not the Planning board.
