Hello all, I have decided to join the club and buy 160 points AKV contract. I have read here over and over you can get a good amuont of Disney Dollars by charging the whole thing on Disney Visa. I currently do not have a Disney Visa. How do I go above getting it? Should I apply the credit card on line or on the phone? Will they give me a $17k credit limit just like that? (yes I have other crdit card just not s Disney Visa) i see on disneyshopping.com you can get a $25 credit with their promo code. Is there any other codes? I am new to all of this I need your help. Thanks!

You might check the Budget Board for Disney Visa info.

This is what we did - we applied on line and got a small instant credit limit, with the card coming in about 10 days with the higher limit. But, do be aware that if this is a new account, Visa will be concerned that such a large purchase right away is fraudulent. I would advise telling them the day you are going to charge that this is what you are doing, and follow up to make sure there are no issues. We found out by a call from fraud detection and it took a few days to straighten everything out. But, yep, you get lots of point.

Do you automatically get the higher credit limit, enough to pay for the whole DVC purchase, or you have to request it? How do you use the reward in the park anyway? Thanks

somewhere in the fine print; there is a limit as to the reward you can earn each year (sorry, don't recall the specifics)

they run different promos as to incentives to signup for a card; i'd check out the Chase site direct & do a google search to see what offers are current

I received a $50 credit to account a few years ago with 1st purchase.

DH (thru a stockholder promo) received a great numbered/collectible watch in a nice wooden box

I think the number of points per year is about 7000 - that means $70,000 worth of spending. As to the credit limit, I suppose that is a function of your own credit situation. I did not ask for the limit I got, but it was enough for the purchase. We also got a $40 credit for opening the new account - but if you had no balance at the time I think you might get a gift card.

Could be wrong, but I think the limit is $750 per year, which translates to $75,000 in expenditures. It is $1 for each $100 spent.

This is right, but you can have 2 cards per person, in your family over 18, with a job. This is what I have done. We own our business and use it for that. I didn't know the visa could be used for the whole DVC purchase, I thought my guide told me, for the down payment. I would be interested in knowing if it can be used for the whole purchase.

You will probably have to call Disney Visa after you recieve your cards to request a line of credit increase. Of course their answer will be based on past credit history. Only $2500.00 of your DVC purchase is allowable for the 6 mos no interest offer. I would only put the purchase on your card if you plan to pay the entire balance off before interest starts to accrue. The Disney dollars are tempting but not worth paying 15% or so interest on a$15,00.00 balance. Being a new member to Disney Visa, inquire about the promotional offer of 0% interest for the first 6 or 12 months on every purchase. This would give you time to transfer your DVC purchase balance to a much smaller fixed rate on one of your other cards. Often current offers are available on existing credit to transfer a balance via a balance transfer check at a much lower rate. Some people have also said they have used a home equity loan to pay off the Disney Visa. Good luck.

We used another credit card with a 5% cash back for the entire purchase of 300 points. Disney had no problem taking our plastic money.

You are right - my math was wrong (and the max).

We took our first step tonight toward purchasing the DVC, my DH called to apply for the Disney Rewards Visa. We call the phone number we found on one of the flyers we received along with the recent disneyshopping.com purchase. 1-800-893-9493. The guy who answer the call had no idea about any promotional code. But he said we can call back after we received the Visa card and ask for it. Also, I thought we will know instantly if we get approved or not, but after confirming all the info and read us all terms and conditions, he said we wil get the result by mail.

Does this sound right to you?? I have a feeling we were talking to someone in one of those call center in India or something.

we charged also on our disney visa, but called and let the know that we are doing it. we got fifty dollars incentive but I dont know how that was, I think it came in our annual pass info. I dont remember if you can put a deposit down aNd then pay it off in a few months or so.

The Disney Chase Visa card is doing their $25.00 to you and $25.00 to a current Disney visa holder who refers you. This is not the biggest referral they have done, I got 40.00 credit to my statemnet when I joined, but it is nice for both parties to get $25.00. I have had one person get referred from me and supposedly I will see the money after 3 cylces. I think it has been three so I may have to call soon and see about my money. :)
