How to protect ECV's in rain?

I hadn't really thought about the logistical implications of needing an ECV in September (oops) and I'm pretty sure that rain will at times be an issue; I read Cheshire Figment's shower cap idea (do they still sell those anywhere?) but I was also curious how the rest of you protect your ECV from rain-both on and off of it. Can you still move while it's raining? will a poncho end up under the wheels? It's my own "new to me" ECV, so I'd rather not destroy it:goodvibes

I use a shower cap over the controls. Usually drape one poncho over me and the back of my chair. I have never had it caught in the wheels before. I guess it could happen. I use another poncho when I am riding rides or not in my ECV for whatever reason. I drape it over the chair and steering column. Fold down the chair and tuck it in the back, this helps it from blowing away. Keeps it dry while not in use.

::yes:: Ditto Carnator, I use a poncho (I get those $1 ones from Walmart or Kmart) to drape over the ECV seat and tuck it in so it won't blow away, works every time. I just fold it up afterwards and put it in the pocket in the back of the seat (the rentals all have this, not sure about the self-owned ones). HTH :thumbsup2

When I'm running (driving) around in the rain I use a standard Disney poncho. The back is draped behind the seat back and the front goes over the handlebars and this does work to keep most of the ECV (and my body) reasonably dry.

I ride in the rain all the time (not on purpose-it just happens:) ). I have no trouble keeping my controls dry but I have found if I wear a poncho all the water runs down the plastic and ends up on my pants or in my shoes. I'm looking for a rainsuit with pants.;)

I have always just used a bag to cover up the controls ( Disney bag) . and my poncho kept me dry.

I found a pack of 5 shower caps in a snap case for $1 at Dollar Tree the other day and I think they will be perfect for my rental ECV in Sept...:thumbsup2

Thanks guys; I really appreciate the advice; hopefully I can manage to get my scooter to WDW and back in one piece (well, 5 actually, but ykwim:goodvibes )
