this is a strange question but I am tired of this happening. I am pooh size and when I walk, my shorts go up in the middle. It is embarrasing all the time. Does anyone have a solution to this, other than not to wear shorts.

I think it maybe an indication that either the shorts are a bit snug, too short or not fitting properly.

Why not wear capri's? This will not happen with a longer pant or inseam. Besides, they are much more flattering than shorts. If it's hot, go for a light weight fabric rather than a jean style. With a nice sandal, they can look very polished.

Pooh sized?! that is so CUTE!!! :rotfl:

Why not try skirts? Just as functional as shorts in the "keep you cool" department and they look really nice too!! I am going on my honeymoon in August and there isn't a pair of shorts to be found in my "honeymoon clothes" drawer!! Skirts skirts skirts and sun dresses!!! I think they look really cute and they keep me cool!! (even though the last time I wore one of my sundresses a waiter brought me a childs menu and a balloon!! :rotfl: It may be b/c I'm piglet sized!! :lmao: )

I don't like shorts at all...no matter what size a person is! Then again I was raised in the South and grandma always said that a lady does NOT wear "short pants"...it's tacky! :rotfl: ;)

Have you experimented with different fabrics? If I wear knit shorts (like T-shirt fabric) they bunch, but if I wear denim or twill they are fine.

I have that problem too with some shorts.

My advice is to try biker shorts/underwear underneath and/or Bodyglide on your skin under the shorts. You can get Bodyglide at sporting goods stores and camping stores. It's also great to prevent chafing and blisters on your feet.

I bought biker shorts/underwear at Junonia.com They are great.

haven't put shorts on my Pooh-sized thighs in years. Found the skorts look and feel wonderful. They do sometimes ride up a little in the middle but the skirt part hides this from view!!!

If you try body glide or I use soothing care chaffing powder it helps the rise up flare ups!

How about trying skorts or try going without underwear, that's one less thing to worry about.

I agree with the ladies here who mentioned skorts. I ditched shorts after
I had my kids and have never looked back. Target has a great and non pricey selection and they are well made so they last a few years. I've tried skirts at WDW but my non-tiny thighs chaf and hurt after a hot day of walking, and walking, and walking.......

I read somewhere else on the DISboard about using anti-perspirant/deoderant sticks on your thighs...I tried it and it works! I am also very pooh sized. Skirts are great if you don't have to do a lot of walking, but for me they are worse than shorts because my thighs rub together and the raw skin leaves me barely able to walk.

Thanks for the help. I will look into all of the advice, even the duct tape.

I just did my dis-shopping and went with long shorts, not quite a Capri, just a below knee length. You can also use talc power or baby powder to keep dry & from chaffing. A pair of bicycle shorts (spandex) under regular shorts works well too.

I found a pair of these, too, and they're very flattering. Draws the eye vertically on my short legs, too. They were $32 or $35 at Sears and were Lands End in a Khaki color, called a Field Short. Hits right at the back of the knee. I probably should have bought two pairs...

One material to not overlook is the stuff with the holes. I don't know how to explain it, other than to say they look like the material they use for basketball uniforms. I stole a pair of my husbands for my treadmill because they were the ONLY thing I could find that did not ride up. Not super stylish, but you can find some plain ones at the sports clothing stores (like Dicks Sporting Goods) and it could work with a good tee-shirt.

I'm going to look for the body glide for my next trip.
