how to plan ahead?

Just curious how people are able to (or not able to) plan ahead for trips with DVC membership in terms of special events like the Not So Scary Halloween Party. If I get past ROFR, I'd like to go in late September this year, but I have no clue what dates the event might be held except based on a guess from last year's dates.

Anyone have any idea when Disney releases the dates for the halloween and Christmas parties (and Candlelight)? I just would hate to book a Saturday - Tuesday trip (going home Tuesday afternoon) and then miss the events!

In the past, the MNSSHP dates have been on Fridays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. That's really all you can go by until they release the dates.

Thanks... I just thought I noticed it was every 2nd Sunday or something like that, which I thought was strange.

Sometimes in spite of everything, you do miss something. We did our very first year, we missed the MVMCP because we were a day too late. Another year we weren't there for the Osborne Lights, they didn't start until after Thanksgiving whereas previous years they began earlier in November. Luckily, DVC members do go back frequently, so you get another chance to plan.
