How To Pick Dining Preference When Booking Online

I usually use a TA, but have decided to book myself on Monday. I just practiced doing a booking to see what information is needed and how easy it is to navigate the screens. There is no option to choose a dining time. In order to request main dining do I then need to add the reservation to the DCL app in order to change it to main dining ( I believe it defaults to second dining). I hope I don’t have to call in order to have it changed.

Once your cruise is booked, go to My Reservations. Scroll down to Dining. There you will see your seating assignment (first or second). There will be a Change Seating hotlink that you can click to change your seating as long as both seatings are still available for your cruise.

They only make a small portion of main dining spots available online, then manage the requests to be moved to main closer to sailing. Don‘t be surprised or worried if main dining is not available. Just ask a DCL agent to be put on the waitlist. They go through the requests a few times before the cruise. The agent on the phone does not have the power to move your dining, unless there is spot available at that exact moment, something you can see online anyway.
