I am a new owner and have a question about dues and I should know this answer I am sure but I am drawing a blank right now. How do we pay our dues? Will we recieve an official bill in writing? Or am I supposed to know how much I owe and then send it in? Thanks for the help!

They send a bill and require payment in January. Or you can have the dues debited from your bank account on a monthly basis for no extra cost.

I'm new, too, so take my answer with a grain of salt...but I think you can also go to your DVC site and pay on-line.:flower3:

Thanks. I did go on-line yesterday but it said records were not available. Guess I will wait for the paper copy.

I'm a new owner too (sort of still waiting for owners to send back their papers :furious: ) but I had to pay my dues in advance. But I bought through resale so that could be the difference.

I bought in last year so am also looking for information about dues payments.

According to the member website, my dues are due by Jan 15th.

Since I live in Canada it will cost me an extra 2-3% for currency exchange if I pay by credit card and I would like to pay with a bank draft (cashier's check).

Yet, in order for a bank draft to get there by the 15th, I need to send it NOW.

(I have not had luck getting answers from member accounting.)

Does anyone know who the bank draft/cashier's check should be made out to?
AND
What address do I mail it to?

Thanks for the help!

The dues you "had to pay" with your resale would most likely be from 2006. The 2007 dues bills are being sent out right now and are due by January 15 unless you use the autodebit method where the dues are evenly spread over 12 months with no service charges.

If you are in the closing process now, I'd anticipate another bill from DVC very soon after your deed is recorded.

The address is:

Disney Vacation Club
Attn: Member Accounting
200 Celebration Place
Celebration, FL 34747

I believe the check should be made out to Disney Vacation Club, but would check with MS before doing that. Annual fees are due and payable by January 15 (or checkin- whichever is earlier) and are considered late after February 15 - so you realy have a grace period to get your check there. You can also make payment online - but would incur whatever charges your credit card will assess for that service.

Good luck!

That would be upsetting since my closing statement states that the money is for "2007 Resort Maintenance and Taxes due to DVCMC" and the contract states that the seller is supposed to take care of 2006 dues.

Personally, I was surprised to see it included on the statement since I'd read on the boards that it's due Jan. 15th and you could pay all at one or monthly. But I figured it needed to be paid so why not get it over with. I hope this doesn't turn into a problem. I just want to close and take vacations.

I bought last May and I added on this month .

The main contract due's were on DVC and I paid them , the add-on said " info for this contract is not available at this time " so I'll just pay that when it comes online .

If you haven't closed yet , that may be why you get records not available , I haven't closed on my add-on yet.

If your closing will be past the January 15 date, it may include the 2007 dues - but those fees have not yet been sent out by DVC. If they have already been "charged" in your closing they may not be correct since they will include any change in the property taxes owed for 2006 - and owed by whomever owned the contract during that time. If you did not own the contract in 2006, you should not need to pay any fees for that time period- HOWEVER - that is something that is negotiable with ANY resale. If you have already agreed to pay all 2006 and 2007 fees you will be liable for that agreement.

Good luck with your purchase.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I really have not been on the Dis in a few weeks and just started thinking about dues being due soon. I realized we have not gotten our bill yet and although, I see posts here that say you can pay on line now, are they still sending paper bills in the mail? If so, should I have received mine yet? I thought we used to get them right after Christmas. If we are not getting paper statements then I guess I had better do it on line before I forget. Thanks for any help!

Happy New Year everyone!! :)

I haven't got my paper bill yet either. IIRC, they were mailed out during the last week of December. They will probably arrive this week sometime.

Reminder: If you get them debited from your bank account, they won't come out until the middle of the month instead of today. And it will be a different amount than what you pay the rest of the year. The "make up" dues will be added to January's payment. Maybe it will be less in January this year than the rest of the year.

I just paid mine online...I am surprised the paper bills have not arrived yet....although we should plan for the payment, it's still nice to have a reminder with more than a few days to get a check in the mail (if you choose to pay that way).

You'll get a notice soon about what the monthly cost is. I htink you can do them on a credit card, monthly automatic withdrawl from your checking or you can send a check. You can also do a lump sum payment.

Can you choose to do a monthly payment instead of a lump-sum when this months bill comes out, or is this something a should have set up already?

You have to start the monthly dues payments 11 months in advance, so you could start paying 2008 dues this month and make monthly payments, but I'm pretty sure the 2007 dues have to be paid in full this month (I'm sure someone will correct me if I have that wrong).

Ok.....I have to pay my dues in full now. But for next year, I would like to do the monthly payments. How do I set that up? Do I need to call MS?

Thanks for your help!
