How many do you pack for a 7 night stay? We will be going in September. DS will be 21 months old. Should we assume that we will go through more diapers and wipes that what we do here at home?

Does WDW carry Pampers diapers and Huggies wipes? Do that have Triple Paste diaper creme in case we run out?

Thanks for any help!!!

Disney does carry diapers (Huggies I think) however they are $1 a piece. We didn't really go through more per se at Disney. Figure a change 1st thing, morning, lunch time, afternoon, dinner time, evening & bedtime, then pack about 2-3 more a day than that. Base it on what you change at home then a couple extra a day. I would pack wipes & creams that you would need & plan to not run out:scared1: prices for that stuff.

Last year DD was 6 months 3 months old. Instead of bringing all the stuff and wasting room in the suitcase, I brought what I needed on the plane in the diaper bag and then when we were in Orlando, we went to the store and purchased the diapers and wipes. I found it more convenient.

What I do is a week or two before I ship my box down, I count each diaper I change for about a week.

I then see which day has the most & I multiply that by the number of days we go plus 1 extra day.

Wipes, I usually bring 3 or 4 packages since we use them alot to wipe our hands.

I wouldn't be able to tell you how many diapers to use for your child since I change them as soon as they are wet.

Also, I did use less while in WDW for 2 reasons, my kids walk less there so they don't pee as much (they pee when they stand for some reason) & we are also in the pool so they would wear a swim diaper.

I bring a good sized pack of both wipes and diapers and I stuff them in my car seat bag. We check it at the airport with car seat loaded in. I use the 'seat' to stow all the bulky stuff like diapers and special blanket, etc. I keep it all contained in a large plastic bag so when we're ready to install the carseat, I just dump the plastic bag with diapers and such in the trunk of our rental car.

WDW does sell diapers for sure -- the baby care centers in the parks offer more baby items than the hotel resorts I have found. As PP mentioned, they are very expensive. The packs are very small...like 4 or 5 diapers in the pack. We don't go through more diapers than we do at home. At least know that they do have Huggies in case you are in a pinch. I imagine they sell wipes too, I just have never noticed them.

Don't know about the diaper cream. The baby supplies are very limited at WDW, so unless somebody tells you they do carry your brand, I would assume they don't.

Good luck!

We've taken our grandson down to WDW twice - once at 21 months and again at 28 months. Both times I ordered diapers, wipes, etc. from Garden Grocer and had them delivered to the resort. Also, ordered water, juice boxes, snack stuff. Much cheaper and very convenient. I also wouldn't want to waste that much luggage space especially with the new rules about 2nd bags now. Go to gardengrocer.com and check it out.

I second this idea! This is what we do! We ordered about the same stuff and some breakfast quickie items (like Quaker breakfast cookies, granola bars, etc.).

And we used about the same amount as we do here at home. We drove to Florida this year and therefor had a car there. Were sure to stop and grab a Jumbo pack of diapers before we got into the park and checkd into WL. We ended up never leaving/driving the resort once we were there. However, there is a HESS gas station right thereby the T&TC, they may sell small packs but I am not sure. They also sel them in the hotel stores. Not sure on variety or sizing, but te Mercantile at the Wilderness Lodge did sell some I notice but didnt take too good of a look at sizing or prices. There are also Baby Centers in each park as well should you runout or be destitute. Not sure if they sell packs of diapers, but i do know they sell single diapers, wipes, formula, bottles and sippys.... DS lost his bottle in transit at AK so we went to the AK BC and bought one relativly cheap. $4 I think... nothing fancy but it worked just fine. I found that we did use more wipes than usual.... Wiping sticky hands and faces from ice cream, cotton candy, and thinsg like that. Or just to help cut back on teh germs... We would bring about 5-6 diapers a day into te parks with us and refill our baggie. I had bought one of the big bags of wipes and also had a ziplock that I would bring chucks of wipes in, rather than a big box or run out of the small cases... This was super helpful. Also: don't forget the swim diapers. They were also sold in the hotel store but I am not sure on the details...

Also consider bringing Tylonol and Ear Ache relief. DS5 came down with Swimmers Ear at my inlaws in the middle of the night - the night before we arrived at WDW. Thank goodness I had brought that "just in case"... Thanks to the Dis Boards of course!! :) He was good to go the next day!

We also brought a bag of snacks... mostly breakfast stuff where we were doing the DDP we most utilized our meals for lunch and dinners. Things like small Yogurts, Cereal Straws, pretzles, juice boxes and things like that to keep the kids at bay and from running to the snack bar all the time. Also to stash little snacks in the diaper bag and stroller to help tied them over between meals, if in transit or whaever....

Good luck and have a Magical vacation!! :wizard:

Great advice, everyone! This September we will be our first time bringing an infant on our Disney vacation and I'm SOOOOOOOOO nervous about it..

Keep in mind too that Sept is hot, and therefore your little one will probably be drinking a lot more. And we know what happens after that!

When ds was in diapers we would just bring the same amount we used at home. I usually took the package apart, made smaller packs with zip top plastic bags and then stuffed the smaller packs where ever they would fit, usually in the smaller zipper pockets of the suitcases. This spread the weight out and also I always figured if we bought souvenirs that we knew we had space for them since we wouldn't be bringing all those diapers back with us.

Can't answer your question about the diaper cream. They DO carry these types of items in the baby care centers in the parks and in the mercantile/sundries stores in the resorts (at a premium cost) but they may not have the specific brand you are looking for. If it's really important, I'd bring an extra bottle/tube just to be on the safe side.

This is what I'm doing. I'm taking down some diapers in our suitcases and then ordering a pack from garden grocer. We leave in less than 2 weeks, so I'm counting diaper changes for a few days and then doing the math. There are 2 sizes of bags for the diapers. I don't want to run out, but I also don't want to have to make room for 1/2 a bag of diapers if I miscalculate. The minimum order is $40, but we're also getting water and some things for the kids. I think I'm taking my own wipes since I prefer Pampers Swipers and it doesn't look like they have that kind. They came in a soft reclosable pack, so it's easy to carry a lot at the same time. Those small hard plastic wipes containers are for short trips only for us. :lmao:

Remember that if you are in a park and you run out of something, or your little one gets too hot (like mine did last time) or you need a nice air-conditioned break, visit the baby centers. They sell small packs of diapers and other baby stuff there, for a Disney price of course. But, they are awesome when you and your little one need a break. They are the nicest places to change a diaper as well. ;)

I figured out the average he uses in a week and then threw in another dozen or so. Makes room for bringing home souvenirs. Also I buy the travel packages of Huggies wipes and Target. More expensive than the big packs but more convienent than carrying around a big tub.

We went to Disney 10-2007 and our son who is now 3 was still in diapers then. We actually shipped wipes, diapers, cereal and snacks to the hotel so that we didnt have to pack them and carry them on the airplane. We shipped them 7 days before our flight and wrote on the box HOLD FOR GUEST : LAST NAME and ARRIVAL DATE. Then when we checked in they brought the box to our room and all was well. It was really easy and I would totally do it again. I think shipping was $20 but it was a huge box. We used UPS ground.

If you are going in September, it will be hot and you have to keep your child well hydrated, so you will go through more than what you normally do. The first 2 times we traveled with diapers, we drove to a grocery store and bought some. They were more there than at home, but cheaper than on WDW property. The last trip we took, we weren't renting a car, so we packed them in every suitcase we had.

If you use Gardengrocer, they will purchase things not listed on their website. Just add them in at the comment section and they will call you a couple days ahead of time with the final price. We ordered different lunchables, Whitecloud diapers and a few other things this way with no problem at all. Diapers are heavy and bulky to put in your 1 allowed suitcase now, so I'd either make a trip to Walmart once there or order again from gardengrocer.

We shipped a box to our resort that had diapers and wipes in it, as well as other consumables that we knew we wouldn't be brining back with us. It was very easy and we had exactly what we needed as soon as we checked in.
