How to pack baby food in checked luggage?

I'm trying to figure this out so that I don't have a huge mess when we arrive at Disney. I want to get it all there in one piece, I'm talking about 12-16 glass jars of food. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I just did this a few months ago. I brought a lot of the plastic containers of babyfood so I wouldn't have to worry as much and just put them in ziploc bags. For the glass jars I put them in socks and sneakers and then in ziplocs. Then I wedged them inbetween clothes for cushoning. It worked, nothing broke. Good luck!

I have never tried this but I have heard that you can put them in pringles cans so they don't clank around.

I packed them in a smaller inner bag with diapers surrounding them - made sure it was nice and tight. (I tend to take all the diapers I need with us in the luggage.) Worked fabulously and we had lots of extra space to take home our souveniers!

You can also take some on as part of your carry on. Just declare it at the security checkpoint. Baby food is an exception to the no liquids policy.

I've never had to pack babyfood (we're going to buy it when we get there), but I dropped a jar on our hardwood floor yesterday and it didn't break. It probably fell 4 feet. So my guess is that if you give it a little padding (put each in a separate sock maybe?) it will be just fine!

I'd think you could get 9-12 stacked in a 1 gallon ziplock, seal it, place a 2nd bag around it for extra security, and then lay it flat between clothing and be fine.

You could also switch to the Gerber's baby food that comes in plastic containers.

If you are taking the baby food for your stay at Disney I would say have the baby food shipped this way you have no worries about it bearking. We have always have had snacks and such shipped to our resort.
UPS is probably the best way to go.

This was what I wanted to do but we got a little lazy and time slipped away. With the holidays next week I'd have to ship a box out this Friday in order for it to make it to Disney by time we get there next Friday. My Mom works for Gerbers so my order from the Gerber store won't be in my hands until Friday night.
