Leavin' on a jet plane...

I wasn’t really sure where to put this, so I figured this was as good a place as any. I bought this awesome hat for our trip next week. It’s nice and cool and will keep the sun off of me. (Which keeps my crankiness down) now the problem is, how do I pack this without it getting all mushed? Or do I just live with it?412337

I always travel with a hat - and there is a packing secret! Pack as many things as you can fit rolled into the crown of the hat so it will not mush and lose its shape. Think underwear, socks, bathing suits, etc. Then, set your hat on the first layer of clothing in your suitcase brim down (like you would sit it on your head) . I use packing cubes so mine will sit on top of the bottom layer. The goal is to have the top of the hat equal with the top of the suitcase. Then pack around the hat. I have no problems with the hat taking up any extra space in my luggage :)
