How to order it....

I like my steaks med rare but have read threads about them over cooking the filets. Should I order it the way I like it and send it back if wrong or order it rare and if it's not cooked enough send it back then?

I know....what a question but it is a concern of mine.

I would clarify with your server what you mean when you order med-rare, cool pink in the middle, if that's what it is, I don't remember myself:confused3 . It should be standard to understand what is meant by med-rare, but doing this might increase the odds for you getting what you want and not having to send it back.
 
1) Order by temperature, and not description.
2) For beef,
. . . Rare, 120°-125°, center is bright red, pinkish toward the exterior portion
. . . Medium-rare, 130°-135°, center is very pink, slightly brown toward the exterior
. . . Medium, 140°-145°, center is light pink, outer portion is brown
. . . Medium-well, 150°-155°, not pink
. . . Well done, 160° and above, steak is uniformly brown throughout

3) You can always send it back for more heat.
