How to optimize direct SSR add-on?

I currently have a resale contract at SSR with an APR use year and would like to add 100 points on direct. My understanding is that Disney charges dues by the calendar year but will provide points for the use year and also allow banking even though it's past the banking window for the first year's points.

If this is all correct then would calling Disney in Nov to buy and close on the contract towards the end of December work? Then I would get the 100 points for this year, and be able to bank them into the 2021 use year, while basically only paying dues for the 2021 points.

Am I missing anything? Thanks in advance for the replies.

If you have an April UY, if you buy from the beginning of the calendar year till the end of March you will get the previous years points, if you buy after April 1st you will get that years points.

Example:
If you bought direct points this year say on March 12, 2020 you would get 2019 UY points, but since it is April 11th 2020 you will only get 2020 UY points.

If this is your plan, then you need to wait till the beginning of 2021 to buy direct points, and buy them before April 1st 2021. But there is no guarantee that DVC will have those direct points available on the day you want them except for RIV right now or Auluni.

Ok, and I would pay the full dues for the 2021 points, but also receive the 2020 points as long as I purchase from from 1 Jan 2021-31 Mar 2021?

If you buy in November, you would owe MFs from that date until the end of the year, and get 2020 UY points since you would still be in your 2020 UY.

If you bought in January, then your MFs would start then, and still get 2020 UY points to bank,

The only thing is that with sold out resorts, they don’t always have points in stock and could put you on a waitlist. If that happensl you’d have to wait and there have been instances that people called a month before the start of UY, and were told they were out, but then got a call a few weeks into the start,

I think SSR tends to be one where the points are there, but just be aware that it could happen
