How to mark our stroller

I have an orange BabyJogger City Mini Double that we're bringing to WDW. I heard that a local company rents these out (and I can see my stroller in the ad at the top of this window!) How can I mark my stroller so nobody walks off with it?

I printed a sign off the DISigns board and used laminating paper to 'water proof' it. It didn't have our names but did have a saying like "Our Magical Trip" POFQ and the dates. (I used this logo for my planning binder and tshirts too!) I then zip tied it to my stroller bag and also a smaller version to the basket.
I put the resort on in case it did get 'lost' hopefully it would make it's way back to POFQ! (I also zip tied smaller ID tags to the stroller with my phone # and put one in the little tray too)

Tie a helium balloon to it. It will be easy to spot in the crowd that way. There are hundreds of strollers outside of attractions, so finding yours can be tough if it looks like a lot of others. It would be fun to pick out a balloon each day, too.

I always used a cheap head scarf, usually red, that I tied around the handle. You can usually find really interesting ones at either Wal-mart or Target. A long piece of a bright colored, wide ribbon would do the same thing. Hobby Lobby or Michaels always has a good selection of those.

We have the same stroller and faced the same problem, although we had ours there in the fall of 2008 (when they were new out, and they weren't being rented yet), and it was stolen! I agree with the ideas to mark yours, we have the orange one and needed to mark ours in a way we could find it easily.

That said, the other things we did was lock ours. We didn't want to lock it from movement and have to unlock it every time we used it (too much of a pain), but wanted it to be protected (for obvious reasons). So, we found a way to make sure it was locked open. With the way I lock it, the stroller cannot be folded, and even if someone wants to take it, they won't be able to get it in a car or on a bus to get out of the lot. If you want an idea on how to do that - pm me and I'll explain it.

In addition to a sign, consider taking some of the cheap light up sticks that you can get at the dollar store and put one on each night so you can find it in the dark.

I saw a sign on a stroller the read " Maddy's Magic Carpet" on our last trip. I thought it was cute. A friend of mine said that when her kids where little she would take a clean diaper and roll it up like it was dirty and out it in the seat of the stroller to keep people from walking off with it or putting there kid in it by acident.

I just posted this on another thread (rain cover), but keeping a rain cover on our double jogger all the time was the best way to mark our stroller. And kept it dry while we were on more than one ride! (darn afternoon, summer, Florida showers!) The raincover had velcro on the sides to that we could lift it up while the boys were riding. When we parked it for a show, ride, etc. I closed it over the front. We had a few castmembers that told us we were very smart to do that! And with the frequent rain showers we had that summer, we didnt have to unpack the basket/find the raincover/juggle the diaper bag/etc. to cover it up.

Last year, I covered our stroller with plastic fabric from WalMart. This year, I purchased a bicylce gift cover. It's basically a gigantic shower cap to cover a bicycle. It's gawdy and bright. I'll be able to see it from a mile away.

A little off topic, but I wanted to add the idea of a bike lock to lock up your stroller. We did that our first trip with a stroller. We found that we didn't really need it, but if you're worried about someone walking off with your stroller, it wouldn't hurt to lock it up to a railing or bench with a bike lock.

I don't think Disney has a rule against locking up your strollers, but I'm not 100% sure. Sometimes I see cast members moving strollers around if they're taking up too much sidewalk space.

I'm pretty sure locking it to Disney property is frowned upon, however, you can run a cable through the front wheels and secure it that way...making it impossible to push forward unless the lock is removed, but allowing it to be moved by cast members (by tilting it onto its rear wheel) if need be. FWIW....locking it up every time you leave it is a REAL PAIN. Coming from the been there, done that crowd. After the first half of the first day, we stopped linking the wheels together.

I ironed this onto the hood of our stroller!

I took multi colored curling ribbon and wrapped the side bars & handles of the stoller. It stood out and was very festive too.
