$6,000 seems like a lot for a Disney Cruise for 2. There will be discounts and special offers between now and them so keep an eye out. (Maybe on mousesavers.com) Also, there must be at least 2 birthdays and Christmas' between now and them... assuming you celebrate Christmas. Instead of gifts ask for Disney gift cards to use toward your cruise.
You may want to also get a Passporter guide from the library so you can est all of the other costs that come along with a cruise besides the initial price such as tips, souvenirs,drinks, shore excursions, etc.
If you are lucky enough to live in an area with a Disney Store you could work there part-time... some people mentioned on other posts that employees get some good discounts on travel to Disney & cruises.
