I know this has been discussed before but the search engine isn't showing me what I am looking for.

I am wanting a friend of mine to go to WDW with me and my children this year. She is a single mother with 3 kids. We would be staying at ASMo...in September.

She's using her tax refund to pay off some credit card bills () but it will not leave any for the vacation. How can we come up with money to pay for her trip?

She has some prom dresses, a wedding dress and a bridesmaids dress that she doesn't need/want anymore. Where is the best place to sell these at? We looking at having to come up with 1800.00 or so.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

You could see if she would be able to consolidate the CC payments into one, and ask the CC company for a lower APR. That way, when she gets her taxes back, she'll have less to pay on and will actually have some $$ to stick away for your trip. I don't know if they offer hardship benefits to single mothers, but maybe she can get one of the CC companies to symapthize with her and cut her a deal by lowering her interest rate or giving her a balance transfer offer that would save her $$ in the long run.

Does she have internet access at home? If so, have her check out the rewards board here. I do a few of them. I have one program that is paying out 74 cents a day. Not much but it does add up over time. Even better, that particular program pays cash. Lots pay in gift cards. Mypoints.com is one of my faves for GC. She has plenty of time to make some money with these programs.

I work for ChaCha and they are currently hiring: http://becomeaguide.chacha.com/ If you want, PM and I will give you any information you want about working for ChaCha. Some people love it, some hate it and feel it isn't worth your time. But she could make some good money for her trip doing it. If you are motivated enough, it is worth it. I happen to love working for ChaCha. It has its good side and its bad but I always get paid and make decent money for what it is. Like I said, feel free to PM me. I get nothing from sharing this information with you/her.

Which program is this one? I'm always up for ways to save $$ for WDW!

It is called paidthefastest.com I think the cashout is like $3 and it pays immediately to your paypal account. I love this program. If you sign up, do the PTC and the daily clicks. Remember to click a link on each page to get paid!

I am still waiting for paidthefastest.com to approve my account.

Another is simplegpt that pays cash to.

I needed some cash *badly* this week so I started listing stuff on Craigslist this morning. I've already made $55 today just selling stuff I had sitting around the house! Also Ebay, you can make money quickly & easily that way . Good Luck!

I like mypoints, too. It's an easy way to get points for GC for food for the trip. Just sign up to get all the e-mails and respond to all the ones that say click for five points and do all the survey offers that come your way. I've gotten 2,000 points just for those items and I only signed up at the end of November.

Does she have the option of a medical flex/spending account at work?

It is a good way to save a little money. It's a little convoluted, I know, but...

I put in $700/yr, which takes out $13/wk out of my paycheck but actually only costs me about $9 because the money is pre-tax. A lot of people's reaction is wait my paycheck is going to go down, so how is this saving me money for my trip, but... when you buy things like sunscreen, tylenol, drs. copays, prescription drugs, etc. (no vitamins tho) they are eligible for reimbursement (some stores mark receipts with which items are flex eligible - target and CVS do so you can see how much you are spending before you start contributing). Items on which I would spend $700 only cost me @ $468. When I get my spending account reimbursements that extra $232 that I saved in taxes is bonus money for me that I applied to my trips.

Other things, throw all your coins, all of them, into a jar. I last cashed in in September and since then my jar has over $100 in it and it really was no effort.

Another thing, check into cashback offers on CCs when purchasing your tickets and paying off your hotel room. I was able to save $160 on my trip by using a specific CC that was offering 5% cashback on all hotel stays paid between x and y dates. I had saved all the cash to pay for the trip, so I charged the purchase, and the applied all my cash to the CC charges. Right before the trip I got my 5% cashback which I took in cash as spending money for the trip.

Thanks for all of the replies so far. As for work, we post work part time, but at times full time hours. And we really can't get another part time job. We will look into CHACHA though.

We do a couple of things. Ebay like crazy and sell anything else thats big or not worth my time on ebay at one huge yardsale. I do one with my mom and sister about once a year and I drag out everything we haven't used in a long time. I can get a couple hundred from this.

Save your change and $1 bills. We have a large jar of change even though we tend to charge everything on our Disney visa. Whenever I have $1 bills in my wallet I put them into the jar as well.

If she has a birthday coming up saving any money from that really helps. I always save my christmas and birthday money for our next trip.

I do simple and do kgb. Kgb is alot like chacha, but pays cash. Cha cha now pays in points ,so I hear, and then it dips into some pool each month and depending on how many points you have, you get a percentage. Many people are not happy with that system now.
Let me know if you have any questions.

I have to second KGB. I've done both ChaCha and KGB; with ChaCha I never got paid since their "bank" denied me on my bad credit but KGB I've gotten paid every month since July. It's not a lot of money; I've only made $20 but I also do very few hours at this point between moving, work and school.

Also, if either of you write, check out Associated Content. I've made a little on writing a few things for that.

Another way is through Paid Survey's online. It's not a lot of money but both Opinion Outpost and MySurvey are both companies that I've used in the past and been paid through. There are two paid to read e-mail sites I've used but on both, you really have to build up a downline to earn any money on them. Of course, if you have a ton of friends/family at different addresses who are willing to sign up and read the e-mails too, then you can make a little on those.

Any money that I get from online stuff goes into a separate account since it is so easy to spend.

What exactly is Kgb?

Thanks!!

Be sure to check on the "Give a Day - Get a Disney Day" program. It will help with the ticket costs!!! And best of luck to you!!!

We sold my daughters prom dress on eBay last year. Got back about 45% of the price we paid for it so I felt it was a good return. 2009's dress will be sold this year prior to buying 2010's, LOL.

How strict is kbg is on grammer and spelling? I am aweful at both. I am wondering should even bother signing up. Also how easy is are the questions to answer.

I have no problems in doing something like this if easy.

I would do good on my math and computer questions that is why I am asking.
