These are all great ideas! Keep them coming.

We do as noted above, book on board, use DV rewards points for the OBA, and use gift cards from Target to pay for the cruise and our OBA. While it seems like just a little here and there it does add up.

There's my REASON for loading $1000 to 6 gift cards! I'll only have to keep 6 cards vs. 100+

If you combine your gift cards, deposit them in the DVA and then pay for your cruise with the DVA, any refunds will go to the DVA and not to individual gift cards. You would only get money added back
to the gift cards if you want to withdraw the money from the DVA. When I got a refund that way, I just left it there and used on the next cruise

Damn. Thought I had a legit reason. Ha. Thanks for following up. I've never used the DVA so while I see it's a good deal I'm a neophyte on how it truly works.

Whatever yard sale, christmas money, bday money, extra income from work, costco refund, amex costco refund, goes directly into our next cruise. I was just figuring out last night with all the extra fun money I have collected over the last six months, I was able to make an extra payment towards our cruise I did not think we would do and save up enough for our excursions, and trip along the way before our cruise! Every penny counts that's for sure!
