Our family loves pizza. Our camper came with about every thing except an oven. Any one know a way to cook pizza while camping? Is there a good portable pizza cooker? Thanks.

I know this doesn't answer your question. But, since you posted this on the WDW Camping site, I would like to point out that there is EXCELLENT pizza at the TRAILS END resteraunt. Pizza is available for take out until 11:00 or 12:00 at night.

Maybe this will help, maybe not. Good Luck !

I have heard of people making pizza on the grill. I'm not sure of the exact recipe, but maybe if you look in a grilling cookbook you could find it there.

There are special appliances you can get that cook pizzas. There's one for cooking frozen pizzas quickly that rotates the pizza as it cooks it. I've seen them in stores but couldn't find one online. I think they're in the $30 range.

I found this other pizza maker from Spiegel. It looks like you can use it to cook homemade pizza and frozen pizzas, but it's more money.

Here's a recipie for the crust:

GRILLED DOUGH
Recipe Courtesy Peter Bastulli
6 ounces Master Pizza Dough (substitute your favorite dough)
Infused Basil (Herbed) extra virgin olive oil
Flatten dough to desired thickness and brush with olive oil. Place on a well-seasoned grill. Do not move dough other than to flip over. Cook both sides 2 to 3 minutes to desired level of charred flavor and appearance. Brush with more oil after flipping the first time.
Yield: 1 medium pizza

Add you favorite toppings and heat on the grill until cheese has melted. A pot over the top will help the cheese to melt.

You could also make a this a flatbread buy skipping the gooey cheese and adding parmesan and grilled veggies. MMMM! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

You all are genius's I neverwould have thought of using the grill! LOL

Then Italked to a friend, her kid sells pizza kits and they put them on the grill in the summer so they dont heat up the house! Good LUck

Thanks for all the info. I ended up buying one of the appliances that rotates the pizza as it cooks. I found it at walmart on clearence for $56. So far I only have used it to warm up left over pizza and I did expieriment with some chicken nuggets and it worked great.
