Hey everyone

I was wondering how to make a room request for my upcoming stay?

We are staying in a standard room at ASMo.

I realise cos we are not in a preferred room we probably wont get a great view, but the only thing i want to request is that we DONT get a parking lot view. I just find looking onto parking lots creepy.

So guys how to i go about requesting a room?

(I know it is only a request, and may not be honoured, but id still like to try anyway)

Laura

Just call whomever you booked your room with, and have them add your request. Even those rooms looking out towards a parking lot have a lot of greenery between the buildings and the lots. Just tell them you do not want to be close to a parking lot.

I am faxing my request to CSR today for our stay beginning on Thursday. I'm just keeping it simple - we'd really like a room in the Casitas section. I realize its only a request, and it'll really be fine where ever they put us. I'm just so excited to be going back to Disney!!!!!

Some recent reports seem to indicate that faxes aren't always effective any more. If you are going to send a fax, make sure the same requests are also on the booking itself.

Call now and simple ask that your room does not have a parking lot view. If that's your only request, it should be pretty easy to get. Then, when you check in, ask the Cast Member about your view. If it's not what you want, ask for another room.

First off, call and make sure that it is noted on your ressies. We always send a fax 4 days out. They've confimed for us before that the fax was recived and noted. It may help, may not, but it's not going to hurt. Also, the earlier in the day you can check in, the more they can move and swap your room around for you.

. . . I am faxing my request to CSR today for our stay beginning on Thursday . . .

1) Most faxes are not read anymore.
2) They usually end up in "File 13".
3) In fact, sometimes, they have just the opposite effect.
4) I have seen CM's give poorer room locations to those that sent a fax.
5) The CM figured the person was too greedy.
6) Just have it noted on the ressie.
7) Then, hope for the best.

NOTE: Up until about 6-months ago, lots of "Room CM's" still read the faxes - some stopped reading faxes quite a while ago. But, within the past 1/2-yr, there have been a rash of faxed requests. This takes a lot of time out of a CM's day. The "Room CM" has more than enough to do during their shift. Thus, sometimes the person faxing is deliberately given a worse room than requested.

I'm interested to know where you get your information. How do you know if most are or are not read and what is done with them? So a CM actually told you someone was being greedy and they took it upon themselves to be vindictive and give them a worse room? You've 'seen it' meaning you've been there when the fax came in, saw on the PC what they were assigned, watched the CM change it before your very eyes while cackling like the Wicked Queen? I find that hard to believe. If that is the case, I would hope and pray that was a rare case of a disgruntled and otherwise all around grouchy CM and not the norm. :sad2:
