What do you all use when it rains to keep your child and stroller dry?

We just had this issue the other day. My friend brought her double jog stroller (with her two china cuties)-she had covered the seats with those rain ponchos you buy at the parks. Both her DD's had on the ponchos as well. It worked! Her stroller was easy to find and was bone dry at the end of the day. (and this was after all day rain)

I was worried about this too. I bought a vinal covered picnic table cloth and some small clips so I can cover the stroller if needed. I am going next week...hopefully it won't rain too much:) The tablecloth folds up small and should be easy to travel with. Good luck and have fun!

I bought stroller rain covers at Babies R Us. They fit our umbrella strollers perfectly, we don't have to worry about clips or having them slide off, they cover all the way to the kid's shoes, and they have mesh sides for air circulation. We've used them on 3 trips now, and they were worth every penny (around $12 each).

Our Kidco umbrella style stroller came with a "rain sheild" that fits over the edge of the canopy and drapes down to the foot rest. It doesn't keep the entire stroller dry but between that and the hood, the child stays dry. And it's very clear so ds doesn't mind behing "covered up" with it, whereas if it was something sort of makeshift like a poncho, he propably wouldn't tolerate that. That sheild has saved him from being totally drenched in a few rainstorms too. I also drape it over the seat when we park it if it looks like its threatening to rain that day. I've seen some "aftermarket" stroller rain covers at BRU. The nice thing about those is they look like they cover the top and part of the sides too so it would not only keep the child dry but also keep the stroller from getting totally drenched as well. And they didn't strike me as being all that expensive - maybe $10 or so?

Our Maclaren comes with a rain shield that snaps to the stroller, we just keep it snapped on but folded up at the top if it looks like rain and just fold it down when we go on a ride or to eat.

I also bought a rain cover at Babies R Us. It was a life saver. We went last June and rain comes with no warning in Florida. We learned that it was best to cover the stroller whenever we went on a ride, because a downpour can happen while your away. I felt bad for some people coming off rides and finding their strollers soaked. I had a lot of people ask me where I got my cover. Also the cover has side vents, so you can still use it with the baby in the stroller, in case you get caught in a storm. And you don't have to worry about trying to keep it in place either. We just got back from Sea World and I was once again glad that I remembered to pack it.

our stroller is the double jeep side by side and is water proof... My kids like getting wet in the rain... so no special efforts will be taken

Those are the ones I bought. They do cover the entire stroller - only the handle part gets wet. The cover snaps around the handles, just above the canopy of your stroller and covers the entire canopy. It's clear so the kiddos can see through it, too. And the sides are mesh to allow air flow.

get a rain cover for the stroller. Cover it whenever you leave the stroller unattended. SHould you be suprised by a soaked stroller, diapers do a great job of drying it off.

Thanks, that's what I'm looking for. The covers that come with the strollers don't cover the canopy and I think that wouldn't work completely.

We always use the double strollers at Disney and the Adult ponchos fit it PERFECT!!! Keeps both kiddos dry and all our junk.

I fitted the raincovers on the Inglesina and Maclaren strollers that I have. Both cover the seat down to the feet but they don't cover the canopy. Will that work of will my daughter still get wet? I'd like to hear from those of you who used the covers that came with the stroller.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy an aftermarket one that covers the canopy? We're going in September and it's very likely to rain. We get nasty showers almost daily in Palm Beach County.

Same kind I bought too from Babies R Us and I love it. We got caught in a real downstorm at Sea World last week. We were soaked, but our stroller and 18mos. daughter were as dry as can be. I love mine. I think I paid $12 for it.

Great tip about covering when leaving it unattended for rides and such, I didn't think about that! Thanks!
I think the ones that snap on don't cover the back whereas the after-market covers will have the handles sticking out but cover what is hanging from them. I'm going to get one and try it!! When I tried a poncho I didn't have anything to clip it and it was a windy rain and just blew around allowing the stroller to get wet! If I had a bungee or something I might have been ok.

I pack a couple of clear jumbo trash bags and bag the stroller when we park it if it remotely looks like rain. If we come out of an attraction and it's raining, we usually find something else nearby to do until it stops or lets up. Then the stroller is nice and dry.
If DS is in it when it starts raining, he usually throws the canopy back and laughs!

Hi, I saw stroller covers at King Dollar for $1. They are the large clear ones that cover the entire stroller.

You might want to check them out.

We use two ponchos to cover our double stroller. They do not make a cover for our stroller and the ponchos have worked well for us two trips running.
