your bra? No matter how I launder my bras the underwire always comes out:mad: I wash gentle cycle and lay flat to dry.

And did you ever notice it pops into your skin at the most inoportune times. Today, doing 70 down the NJ turnpike when I get totally jabbed.

Any laundry tips?

Hand wash. I'm not big enough to need underwires, but DD has some. The only thing that works for me is yucky old handwashing. :(

I can't help you with the laundry part, but whenever my underwire starts jabbing threw the bra and poking me in the skin I'll go to the bathroom and just pull the wire out and chunk the bra when I get home.

Yup handwash it or you can stich the area where the wire comes our from so that it stays in there.

All these years and I have never hand washed a bra. You learn something new everyday. All the money I could have saved.
One more question, should I just use tide or do I need to use something like Woolite. Gosh I feel so stupid.

I handwash, too. You don't have to lay it flat to dry. Hang it over the shower curtain rod and it will dry faster.

You can buy Woolite, but shampoo works, too, and it's cheap. Get a bottle of Suave for washing your bras.

hmm, I've always had underwire bra's, and only the cheap ones seem to have a problem with the wires coming out. I've got some victoria secret ones that I've had for 3 years or so, and never hand washed and never had a wire pop out. I think they are made better than the ones you buy at walmart target etc.?? Maybe it's just me, but they just go in the washing machine with the rest of the whites.

I do remember when I was younger, and my mom bought my underwires, the wires would come out, but she bought 7.99 bra's etc... since I've switched to the VS brand, I havent had that problem.

Maybe try a better built bra? (that sounds funny!):smooth:

Brandy

I have never had the underwire come out of my bra, but like Brandy, I get mine from Victoria's Secret. Mine are always thrown in the washer/dryer and are still fine and poke-free :teeth:

I pay about $40 for my bras & unless I handwash them, the wires come out...so I don't think amount spent has much to do with it.

I handwash with laundry detergent & hang it on a hanger in my laundry room to dry.

Another vote for VS. But if money is an object, then buy yourself a net laundry bag (preferably one that zips) and use it. Your dainties will get clean, but they won't get over agitated due to severe restied movement with in the tub. That is where the wear and tear comes from mostly.

I second the net laundry bag. I throw all of my bras and "good" underwear in them, machine wash cold and line dry, and I've never had an underwire pop out regardless of whether it's a VS bra or a $5 "slightly imperfect" one. :p

I've found the best way to save the underwires is to leave them on the shelf and go for bras without those torture devices.;)

I find the best way to keep them in shape is close the clasps before washing them. It keeps them from getting stretched out in the washer and the wires from getting twisted. The mesh bags work good too.

I just saw some sort of special mesh bag that is made for underwires. It looked like it was shaped like a bra folded in half. I wish I could remember where I saw that...

Hi Me-Shay-Ta!

Just wanted you gals to know that I am not wearing 2.00 bras bought at a garage sale;) I have even had problems with my Wacoal bras. I intend to start hand washing.

Thanks

I usually wash mine in the regular wash but let them air dry. I have not had much trouble with the wires coming out of the ones that have the new "plastic" wires. They don't get twisted as much either.
