How to keep sharpie from coming off pins

Not sure where to post this...but... what should I do to keep the sharpie from rubbing off our pins? One year we had to rewrite my daughters name on her birthday pin every day. Any suggestions? Put tape over it?

I used hairspray on my birthday button last month and it worked well. The first day I wore it it rubbed off all over my arm and handbag, so I rewrote my name, sprayed it with hairspray, and it stayed on.

I was going to suggest clear nail polish. I've never tried it on a birthday button, but I had bought a key chain with my name on it one year and the name had started to rub off, so the next year I bought the same key chain again and put clear nail polish on it when I got home, and it worked great.

Tape is the way to go. The front desk will probably give you a piece if you ask. The cast member at CBR gave my in-laws a piece for their anniversary buttons last year and you couldn't even tell it was there.

The CM's all use tape and it works great.
